Goal
The over all goal for this interpretive sign is to generate awareness so that there would be an increase in CASA volunteers.
A sub-goal would be for those who weren’t able to volunteer to donate to the CASA organization.

Message
The overall message for this interpretive sign is:
“Not everyone can be a foster parent or adopt a foster child but anyone can provide support and guidance to a foster child.”
Interpretive Sign Message

1st design
![Page 6: CSE Interpretive Design Portfolio](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022042608/55c000a4bb61eb3f748b460c/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
One change was to create unity between the two pictures, even though they are showing two different scenarios.
I also wanted to better utilize the white space on the poster as well as draw the reader’s eyes to specific areas on the poster for a dramatic effect.
Changes

2nd Design
![Page 8: CSE Interpretive Design Portfolio](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022042608/55c000a4bb61eb3f748b460c/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
The realignment of the photos created a more dramatic effect but the spacing of the texts was high effort for the viewer.
Odd numbers for photos creates better alignment and visual ease so I’ve chosen to use the more dramatic of the two photos.
Changes

3rd Design
![Page 10: CSE Interpretive Design Portfolio](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022042608/55c000a4bb61eb3f748b460c/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
The closer proximity of the text creates lower effort for the viewer but the two different alignments creates conflict.
The photos run off and use of it as a focal point enhances the dramatic effect while also embellishing the over all message. The use of the photo on the bottom however creates an awkward alignment.
Changes

4th Design
![Page 12: CSE Interpretive Design Portfolio](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022042608/55c000a4bb61eb3f748b460c/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Changes
The color enhances the emotions but I don’t think the warm color of the yellow and the cool color of the blue tint improve the overall goal of this poster.
The consistent alignment and use of chunking creates the promise of low effort. The text of this design doesn’t embellish the overall theme of this poster.
Changes

Final Design

ChangesChanges
The change of text, color and spacing of this final design create a style and theme that enhances the message of this poster.
The monochromatic color scheme and dramatic photo, further draws on the emotions this poster is trying to bring to it’s audience.
