(MARCH 2012, PART B, QUESTION 2)
1. List THREE (3) basic types of buses.
a) System bus @ front side bus (FSB)
Part of the motherboard and connects the processor to main memory.
b) Backside bus (BSB)
Connects processor to cache.
c) Expansion bus
Allows the processor to communicate with peripherals.
(SEPTEMBER 2011, PART A, QUESTION 7)
1. Below are the basic operations of a processor in machine cycle EXCEPT
A. Fetching
B. Storing
C. Decoding
D. Deleting
Because in Machine Cycle, it only have Fetching, Decoding, Executing and Storing
(APRIL 2010, PART B, QUESTION 2)
1. RAM is used to temporarily store instructions and data. What makes RAM important to a computer system? State any TWO (2) reasons.
a. Consist of memory chips that can be read from and written to by the processor and other devices.
b. Can accommodate multiple programs simultaneously.
