DeLaSalle-CollegeofSaintBenilde(DLS-CSB)startedoutasacommunityornightschoolforworkingstudentsbasedinDeLaSalleUniversity(DLSU).UndertheleadershipofthelateBr.AndrewB.GonzalezFSC,itevolvedintoadynamicinstitutionthatofferedpioneeringdegreeprogramsdifferentfromthoseinregularuniversitiesandcolleges.
Today,DLS-CSBisalearner-centeredcommunitythatbelongstotheseventeenDistrictschoolsthatcompriseDeLaSallePhilippines(DLSP).GuidedbytheLasallianprinciplesofFaith,ZealinServiceandCommunioninMission,oureducationalphilosophyisfoundedonthebeliefthateachstudentisendowedbyGodwithtalentsandgiftsthatshouldbeunderstood,appreciatedandnurtured.
IntroductionWestrivetocreatealearningenvironmentthatallowsyoutodevelopyourinterestsandpassionssothatyouwillbecomeprofessionallycompetentinestablishedindustriesandemergingfieldsofspecialization.Ourdegreeprogramsinapplieddeafstudies,designandarts,hotelandtravelindustry,entrepreneurshipandbusinessadministration,anddiplomaticaffairsaresupportedbyhands-ontrainingandpracticalcoursework,well-maintainedfacilities,sophisticatedlearningresources,studentsupportsystemsandservices,andmentorswhoarealsoindustrypractitioners.

JohnBaptistdeLaSallewasborntoawealthyfamilyinFrance—buthewassomovedbytheplightofthepoorthatheresolvedtodedicatehistalentsandadvancededucationtowardstheserviceofchildren“whowereoftenlefttothemselvesandwerebadlybroughtup.”
HethenformedthecommunitythatbecameknownastheBrothersoftheChristianSchools.Hewentontoestablishtrainingcollegesforteachers,reformschoolsfordelinquents,technicalschools,aswellassecondaryschoolsformodernlanguages,artsandsciences.HisworkquicklyspreadthroughFranceandcontinuedtospreadacrosstheglobeafterhisdeath.
In1900,JohnBaptistdeLaSallewasdeclaredaSaint.In1950,inrecognitionofhisexemplarylifeandinspirationalwritings,hewasmadePatronSaintofAllTeachers.Hislegacylivesontoday,astheDeLaSalleBrothers(astheBrothersoftheChristianSchoolsareknowninthePhilippines)—assistedbymorethan100,000laycolleagues—teachover1,000,000studentsin82countries.
PierreRomançonwasborntoapoorpeasantfamilyinAuvergne,France.Atanearlyage,hebecameatutorofprayerstohisplaymates.HefeltastrongdesiretobeaLasallianBrotherandassumedthenameBenildewhenhebecameafollowerofJohnBaptistdeLaSalle.
Helovedteachingchildrenandspent40yearsintheclassroom.Hebecamedistinguishedforhisdevotiontoeducatingstudentsfromallwalksoflife—goingasfarastolearnsignlanguagetoteachaDeafboycatechisminordertomakeitpossibleforthelattertoreceiveHolyCommunion.
An embodiment of Lasallian spirituality and simplicity, Benilde Romançon workedhardtoenrichthequalityoffraternalunityamongtheBrothersthroughprayer,songandmusic.In1928,hewasdeclaredaSaint.Inrecognitionofhisachievements,PopePiusXIsaid,“Sanctitydoesnotconsistindoingextraordinarythings,butindoingordinarythingsextraordinarilywell.”
Indeed,BenildeRomançon’sselflessdevotiontoeducationencouragedmanyyoungmentothepriesthoodandreligiouslife,andhebecameknownastheLasallianpatronsaintofvocations.

In1999,theCollegeinaugurateditssecondcampusatthecornerofArellanoAvenueandEstradaStreet:theAngeloKingInternationalCenter(AKIC),whichhousestheSchoolofHotel,RestaurantandInstitutionManagementandtheCSBHotel.
In2007,theCollegeinaugurateditsthirdcampusalongP.OcampoSt.(formerlyVitoCruz):theSchoolofDesignandArts(SDA)campus.

In1980,DeLaSalle-CollegeofSaintBenilde(DLS-CSB)startedastheCareerDevelopmentProgram(CDP),aneveningschoolforworkingstudentsofDeLaSalleUniversity(DLSU).ItoffereddegreeprogramsinBachelorofScienceinBusinessAdministrationmajorinBusinessManagementandMarketingManagement.
In1984,CDP’sPreparatoryStudiesDepartment(PSD)wasestablished.Itwascreatedspecificallytohelpstudentswithcollegepreparednessandteachthemhowtocopewiththeacademicrequirementsinsubsequentdegree-orientedcoursesinregularcolleges.
In1985,CDPwasrenamedastheCommunityCollege.Then,in1987,PSDwasreplacedwiththeArtsandBusinessStudiesArea(ABSA),whichofferedcoursesinBachelorofArtsinHumanResourceManagementandaBachelorofSciencedegreeinBusinessAdministration,majorinComputerApplicationsforregularstudents.Apre-baccalaureateprogram—whichfocusedonprovidingstudentscompetenciesinpreparationforcollegeeducation—wasalsobeingofferedundertheEducationalDevelopmentDepartment(EDD).TheEDDwaslaterrenamedGeneralStudiesProgram.
WiththeestablishmentoftheDeLaSalleUniversitySystemin1988,CDPwasrenamedastheDeLaSalleUniversity-CollegeofSaintBenilde.Aspartofitsexpansion,theCollegemovedtoitsnewcampusat2544TaftAvenue,ManilainJanuary1989.AsidefromtheCDP,theCollegealsoofferedprogramsundertheArtsandBusinessStudiesDepartment(ABSD).
TheCollegebeganconductingitsownadmissionsprocessin1993andreachedfullautonomyin1994.ItsfirstcommencementexerciseindependentfromDLSUwasheldin1997.

-TheBusiness Entrepreneurship track prepares you to set up, operate andmanagesmall-tomedium-levelbusinesses.Youwilllearntechniques inproducingfoodandnon-foodproducts.Youwillalsodevelopcompetenciesintheareasofbookkeeping,accounting,andofficemanagement.Italsoequipsyouwithcomputerapplicationknowledgethatwillhelpyouimplementefficientandeffectivebusinessoperationprocesses.
