April 27, 2015 Sally Gray Linden Tree Farm 900 Boomer Hill Rd Myrtle Creek, OR 97457 Re: Timber cruise report for Linden Tree Farm located in Douglas County, Oregon. Dear Ms. Gray, We have completed the timber cruise for the timber located in Douglas County, Oregon under the following legal description:
Tax lot 100, Section 30, Township 29 South, Range 05 West, Douglas County Tax lot 200, Section 29, Township 29 South, Range 05 West, Douglas County Tax lot 400, Section 20, Township 29 South, Range 05 West, Douglas County Tax lot 700, Section 19, Township 29 South, Range 05 West, Douglas County Tax lot 100, Section 25, Township 29 South, Range 06 West, Douglas County
The property includes approximately 299.6 acres of timberland that is considered economically feasible for harvest. Cruise Objective The primary objective of the cruise is to estimate the volume of timber within the areas considered economically feasible for harvest. Cruise Dates The timber cruise of the subject took place during the month of April, 2015. Mapping and Acreage Mapping was completed with the PC-GPS Forest Mapping program using 2012 aerial orthographic photography as the basis. Tract boundaries were delineated using the Douglas County tax lot GIS database. 15 stands were mapped within the tract using the aerial photos as a guide to delineate changes in timber types. Further refinement of the stand boundaries was done using a combination of aerial photos and on-the-ground observations. Many areas within the ownership contain younger natural stands where logging costs would exceed the gross value of the timber at this time. These areas were not sampled during the cruise. An ownership map with stand locations is attached.

Timber Descriptions The merchantable timber consists predominantly of Douglas-fir that is 50 years of age and older. The timber appears to be naturally regenerated following a timber harvest that would have occurred between 1955 and 1965. The most common sub-species include incense-cedar and madrone. The Douglas-fir trees are of good quality with straight boles and are generally free of defect. The first log segment contains knot indicators that are generally under 1 inch in diameter. The second log commonly has larger dead limbs with some live limbs. The following charts show the percent net board foot volume by species.
Figure 1: Species composition by net MBF (including pulp)
Figure 2: Species composition by net MBF (saw logs only) The average site index of the type is 95. This was found using King’s 50 Year Site Index, based on the age and total height of trees measured within the type.

Cruise Method The timber in each stand was cruised using a variable radius plot cruise. Cruise trees were sited at the diameter at breast height (dbh) using a basal area factor (BAF) of 20. Trees were cruised to a minimum diameter of 8 inches at dbh. Cruise trees had to contain a minimum of a 16 foot log with a 6 inch scale end diameter. Each of the 15 merchantable timber stands were combined into a single timber type. Plots were allocated across the type on a 4.75 chain by 4.75 chain (313.5’ x 313.5’) square grid. This spacing is equal to 2.25 acres per plot. A total of 127 plots were taken on the 299.6 acres of timber that were considered to be economically feasible to harvest. All plots were cruised for species, sort, and grade. Bole lengths were measured to a minimum of 7 inches outside bark or to 40 percent of the bole diameter at 16 feet, whichever was greater. Logs were graded using Columbia River Log Bureau rules. The minimum saw log diameter cruised was six inches scaling diameter. The preferred log length specified for saw logs was 36 feet with log lengths down to 12 feet being specified for utilization of the merchantable bole length. For the purposes of this cruise, only domestic log sorts were used, as defined table 1. Table 1: Description of log sorts

Defect deductions were made as needed to each log segment with either a length, diameter or percent deduction. Visible defect deductions were generally made for sweep and crook. Timber volumes are from the Super A.C.E. cruise program. This is a variable log length cruise program that computes volumes from the cruiser's measurement of tree diameter, form (taper) and merchantable bole height. Timber volumes are reported in terms of west-side Scribner scale. A summarization of the type can be seen in table 2 below. Complete statistics and volume reports are attached. Table 2: Summarization of type
