Innsbruck, ich muss dich lassen (sung in German) Innsbruck, I must leave you for I am traveling the road to a foreign land. There, deprived of my joy and knowing not how to get it back, I will be in misery. I am burdened with great sorrow that I can shed only through the one dearest to me. O my love! Leave me not bereft of compassion in your heart that I must part from you. My comfort above all others, I remain yours forever, always faithful, in true honor. And now, may God protect you, safe in virtue, till I return. Lacrimosa (sung in Latin and Yoruba) The day will be full of tears will be when the guilty man shall arise from the dead to be judged; Therefore spare him, O God, Merciful Lord Jesus, Grant them eternal rest. Amen. Father Oduduá, the principal, sacred priest, let us enter your dwelling; we greet you. Indodana (sung in isiXhosa) The Lord has taken his son who lived amongst us; the son of the Lord God was crucified. Father Jehovah, we weep. We Can Mend the Sky (sung in English and Somali) In my dream I saw a world free of violence, hunger, suffering; a world filled with love. Now awake in this world—I beg, let my dream come true. To save your life, run with all your might. If we come together, we can mend a crack in the sky. Requiem (sung in Latin) I. Grant eternal rest to them, Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them. A hymn befits you, God in Zion, and a vow to you shall be fulfilled in Jerusalem. Hear my prayer, for unto you all flesh shall come. Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us. II. O Lord Jesus Christ, King of Glory, free the souls of the dead from infernal punishment, and from the deep abyss. Free them from the mouth of the lion, do not let Hell swallow them up, do not let them fall into the darkness. Sacrifices and prayers of praise we offer to you, O Lord. Receive them for the souls of those whom we commemorate today. Lord, make them pass from death to life, as you promised to Abraham, and to his seed. III. Holy Lord God of Hosts, the heavens and earth are filled with your glory. Hosanna in the highest! IV. Merciful Lord Jesus, grant them rest, eternal rest. V. Lamb of God, who removes the sins of the world, grant them rest. May eternal light shine on them, Lord, with your saints for eternity, for you are merciful. Grant eternal rest to them; let perpetual light shine on them. VI. Free me, Lord, from eternal death, on that day of dread, when the heavens and earth shall move, when you shall come to judge the world by fire. I am made to tremble, and to fear, when destruction shall come, and also your coming wrath. O that day, that day of wrath, of calamity and misery, the great and exceedingly bitter day. Grant eternal rest to them, Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them. VII. May angels lead you into paradise. At your coming may martyrs receive you, and may they lead you into the Holy City, Jerusalem. May the chorus of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, who once was a pauper, may you have eternal rest !!

Each small gleam was a voice, A lantern voice –

In little songs of carmine, violet, green, gold. A chorus of colors came over the water;

The wondrous leaf-shadow no longer wavered, No pines crooned on the hills,

The blue night was elsewhere a silence, When the chorus of colors came over the water,

Little songs of carmine, violet, green, gold. Small glowing pebbles

Thrown on the dark plane of evening Sing good ballads of God

And eternity, with soul's rest. Little priests, little holy fathers,

None can doubt the truth of your hymning, When the marvelous chorus comes over the water,

Songs of carmine, violet, green, gold.

- Stephen Crane

About the Program Cover Solara Shiha is a Syrian architect and artist based in Berlin. She obtained her Bachelor and Diploma in Architecture from Tishreen University in Latakia, where she taught Architectural Theory for two years before receiving a scholarship to join a Masters program at TU Berlin. She started drawing as a child and has developed a sense for details and ornaments ever since. One of the main subjects she works with is the feeling or situation of loss; loss of loved ones, memories and places. She nevertheless often uses bright, strong colors and an excessively ornamental style. Her work was exhibited three times in Berlin, and she is the artist director of RESTART. Her work is reproduced on our concert program and poster with permission.
