14 El amor de Cristo nos obliga, porque estamos convencidos de
que uno murió por todos, y por consiguiente todos murieron. 15 Y
él murió por todos, para que los que viven ya no vivan para sí,
sino para el que murió por ellos y fue resucitado.

Crossing Cultural Lines to Link People to the Cross
Othello Mixtec Shoe Boxes Distribution
CrossLink ended 2015 seeing many people blessed and touched through
the year by the outreach, teaching, and proclaiming of the Good news of the
gospel – especially to Hispanics – in the Yakima Valley and Othello in
Eastern Washington. The CrossLink connection and partnership in Mexico
was also spiritually fruitful, as people who heard God’s redemptive love
story responded and became new believers. Others participated in
discipleship training, and a number of church leaders were encouraged
through training conferences co-hosted by CrossLink!
What about 2016? We believe God will enable us to continue to grow this
ministry! Doors are open for more evangelism, discipleship, and leadership
training both in the US and Mexico! Thank you for praying, going, and
financially engaging with us to fulfill the commission God has given us!
Lives are being changed forever by the power of God as we serve people in
His name!

Aguilars Juan and Dina Aguilar ended
2015 with an eagerness to
continue preaching God’s
Word in Tieton. Continue to
pray for the Aguilar family,
their ministry and continued
support, and for the impact that
the believers at Iglesia Biblica
Sinai are having in the Tieton
community through their
outreach efforts.
Salis Judah and Alyssa Sali are
currently focused on equipping
church members to take on the
responsibilities of leading
Bibles studies for the youth
and women’s groups. Continue
to pray for the Sali family and
their children, their ministry in
Arandas, and for the church
members in Arandas who are
discovering their leadership
gifts. www.CrossLink.info | 509.895.7710 | CrossLinkYakima

The recent Crosslink Fundraiser Dinner
featured a passionate message from
Misael Hernández, who is a missionary
along with his wife Taira in Mexico
through a ministry partner called Open
Air Campaigners. Hernández has worked
with CrossLink to lead pastoral
workshops at our Mexico Leadership
Conferences, as well as led evangelism
practicums and workshops for pastors
and church members.
What is the reason for sending
missionaries? 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
describes what should be the driving
reason. 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because
we are convinced that one died for all,
and therefore all died. 15 And he died for
all, that those who live should no longer
live for themselves but for him who died
for them and was raised again.
“If we call ourselves believers and
followers of Christ we must follow and
do what Christ tells us to do,” Hernández
challenged. “My question is – how much
do we love Christ?”
Sometimes that means setting aside some
of our possessions and free time – or
whatever else it is that we value, because
we must love Christ the most.
“I have been an evangelist for 11 years.
How hard has it been? Very hard,”
Hernández said. “But it has all been
worth it because we love Christ. That’s
why we say Christ’s love compels us.”
Hernández gave out a challenge to ask
yourself – what is Christ’s love doing in
you?
“Is it only to go to church and read your
Bible a little? We have to die to ourselves
and our own desires,” he said. “We have
to die to ourselves and follow God’s
purpose.”
And a big part of that purpose is to call
sinners to repentance.
“We don’t know who will repent so we
have to preach to all – Christ’s love
compels us to do this,” Hernandez said.
“The love of Christ must be the engine
that moves us as Christians.”
With help from Crosslink and other
ministry partners, 51 people were trained
at a recent week-long evangelism
practicum in Baja Mexico. Some
participants learned to sketch-board and
others learned how to use object lessons.
The last day of the training they went out
into the streets and used their new skills.
40 people either made a decision for
Christ or wanted to know more about the
gospel.
Some of the students who have been
through the training are Mixteco and
there is some hope that one may be called
to plant a church in eastern Washington.
Hernández relayed a story from one
attendee – a pastor named Samuel, who
he described as being very skeptical at
the start of the week of training, but his
heart had changed through the week.
“For a long time I had the desire to
preach the gospel, but something changed
along the way,” Samuel said, describing
how his desire to share the gospel had
waned. “But in these days God has again
placed that desire in me.”
Fellow believers all face the same
challenge of maintaining that daily desire
to pray for and engage in missions.
“We all have to make the same decision,”
Hernández said, “Let’s be faithful and
love Christ.”

Hearing the Gospel in One’s Heart Language
The children were excited to receive the shoe boxes filled with gifts.
Pastor Garcia shared the Christmas story through a Mixtec translator at
the event. We thank Santos Villareal for supporting this ministry over the
years and for arranging a Mixtec translator to be present.
For several years, friends and partners with CrossLink have been praying
for a missionary pastor – one who speaks or is willing to learn Mixtec –
to serve the community in Othello and to share God’s love for them in
their heart language. Please continue to pray for this pastor or family to
come to this area.
Thank You for Your Generosity!
Five churches participated in gathering and distributing Christmas shoe
boxes to the Mixtec Community in Othello. Our volunteers gave away
almost 200 shoe boxes!
