Introduction

The FIS and world wide organizers are looking to the Alpine community for support in the future development of CROSS.

Development in FIS Cross Events

Ski Cross brings together many aspects of Alpine Ski Racing and Snowboarding

Ski Cross along with Snowboard Cross has seen significant growth worldwide

On average Ski Cross has over 500+ competitors in the system

On average Ski Cross events have over 25 nations on the start list

Integration of CROSS into FIS

The competitors come out of the alpine ski racing system, either being retired competitors or new developed skiers within the formation of National Teams

The competition officials, Chief of Competition and Chief of Course and also the organizers have Alpine roots

Many of our venues have Alpine history

• Megeve - France

• Are - Sweden

• Nakiska - Canada Many of our TDs have Alpine history and skills

Demand for new Officials

This growth has put demands on the current officials pool

To meet the increase in Competitions, support the growth and development of Ski Cross, a partnership and support from the Alpine Skiing Technical Delegate community is needed

This would allow us to develop Cross events in the right direction and open up new exciting opportunities for current Alpine Technical Delegates
