Cross-district Strategic Solutions Session Protocol A regional facilitator (PD Lead) hosts the face-to-face session with access to a virtual meeting platform to accommodate interested participants from other regions in the state. The presenters are district leaders or teachers who will present a problem topic to the forum participants for generating solutions. 5 minutes District Problem of Practice Presentation District Presenter(s) describe their problem of practice to the group, concluding with a specific question to frame the group discussion. Notes 10 minutes Clarifying Questions The group asks clarifying questions of the presenter(s). Clarifying questions such as “who, what, where, when, and how” are factual questions with brief responses that help the group understand the problem of practice better. Notes 10 minutes Probing Questions The group asks probing questions of the presenters. Probing questions are open-ended and worded so that they help the presenters clarify and expand his/her thinking about the problem of practice. They ask the presenters “why” (among other things), and take longer to answer, often requiring deep thought on the part of the presenters. Notes
