PowerProtection,UPSandBatteries
Critical Power Supplies sells equipment
from the leading manufacturers in the
industry. Such products give customers
the means by which to protect the supply
(or supplies) of electricity to their
businesses, thus ensuring that critical
systems can continue when a mains
power cut happens. Such products,
UPS (uninterruptible power supplies)
in particular, also condition raw mains
electricity and stop the power problems
associated with it, such as sags, surges,
brownouts and so on, which could lead
to severe disruption or cause damage
to expensive machinery, computer
and other equipment.
StandbyPower,generators&fuelcells
We also supply products, such as diesel
and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) generators
that provide back-up power, which may
be required on a temporary basis (such as
on a construction site, or for an outdoor
event) or as backup to mains power in
a UPS/power protection system. It is a
highly specialised field and one in
which Critical Power Supplies has a
strong history.
RenewableEnergy,EnergyManagement
To add value, alongside the above, we
provide strategic advice, consultancy,
products and services that enable
customers to implement energy efficiency
measures and optimise their electricity
consumption, reduce waste (and thus
energy costs) and making sure they
know where electricity is being used
and by what.
For customers implementing renewable
energy initiatives, Critical Power Supplies
carries a range of renewable energy
solutions such as solar panels, solar and
wind power inverters, grid connecter
inverters and solar tracking solutions.
OnsiteServices
Critical Power Supplies has unrivalled
experience in the industry and this has
enabled the company to compile a choice
of valuable onsite services that are known
to truly benefit customers. Technical
support is available 24/7, for the lifetime
of the products the company supplies
(a commitment rarely matched by other
resellers) and Critical Power Supplies
also offers strategic consultancy to
assist customers and trade partners in
achieving their power and energy goals.

AccreditedEngineeringTeam
Uninterruptible power supplies and other
equipment sold by resellers must be
properly installed and commissioned
according to manufacturers’ guidelines and
recommendations. If not, warranties can be
invalidated and the products may not work
or operate as expected. UPS up to 3kVA are
usually ‘self-installed’ as they are designed
to plug straight into an existing power
socket. Above 3kVA, however, UPS tends to
be hardwired and qualified electrical
engineers or contractors (authorised to do
the work and issue an electrical installation
certificate upon completion) must carry this
out. This is essential to satisfy UK legal and
regulatory requirements.
Critical Power Supplies operates nationwide
(UK) and in Northern Ireland and has
access to a team of highly skilled, qualified,
accredited and experienced engineers who
are dedicated to the job of power continutiy.
The company considers them its cavalry,
on the road and ready to be despatched
to wherever their skills are required.
Critical Power Supplies is proud of the
reputation and credibility its cavalry
commands in the industry.
Accreditations
StandardsCompliance
It means they can rest-assured that the
company complies with the latest standards
and regulations – the same ones as they are
required to, or that they require in a supplier
in order to comply with their own industry’s
stringent regulations. In trading with Critical
Power Supplies, customers’ regulatory
compliance remains in tact.
Customer service, environmental
responsibility and valuing people
It also demonstrates how seriously Critical
Power Supplies takes its commitment to
customers and how it is developing its
business in the best possible way, adhering
to continuous improvement, caring about its
impact on the environment and taking an
active and positive role in shaping the future
of the people it employs through employee
assistance programmes.

Products
CriticalUPS/STSSolutions
Critical Power Supplies is manufacturer-
independent, which means it is free to
choose the best solutions to meet customer
requirements from an extensive range of
quality, leading-edge back up power
solutions, UPS - including standby, line
interactive and online double conversion,
parallel (N+X) configurations (with floor
standing and rack-mount options).
All products meet strict standards of
quality, health and safety and
environmental (ECO) management.
STS(sourcetransferswitches)
orStaticTransferSwitches
STS increase the resilience of a power
continuity system by introducing a dual
primary input supply of AC power (two
different UPS or two separate mains
supplies, perhaps). Critical Power Supplies
sells a range of switches, from entry-level
up to industrial types.
PowerDistributionUnits(PDUs)
A PDU helps to solve power problems by
distributing electricity to where it is needed
most and helping customers track and
manage their energy use. Critical Power
Supplies provides a range of PDUs for
vertical and horizontal rack-mount
application, from basic to monitored,
single and three-phase.
SmartMeters
Smart meters enable customers to monitor
their energy use and thus cut energy bills.
Critical Power Supplies offers a range of
products - from cost-effective metering
solutions to a complete Smart system with
instant access to data (using any number
of devices; handhelds, PCs, laptops).
RenewableEnergy
Critical Power Supplies stocks a number of
solar and wind energy products including
inverters that enable linking to the National
Grid as part of the Government’s Feed-in
Tariff scheme so that customers can
implement ‘Green’ initiatives at the
same time as cutting energy costs.
MonitoringPackages
Energy monitoring and management is
climbing its way up the business agenda
as energy costs continue to rise. Remote
monitoring of batteries and power protection
systems also helps increase uptime and
system availability, alongside allowing
products and machinery to be maintained
effectively. Critical Power Supplies’ packages
include battery monitoring, critical remote
monitoring, PDU management, UPS
monitoring (including a multi-brand option)
and accessories such as interface cabling
and communications adapters.
ConsumablesandSpares
The company has a full range of
consumables – from UPS batteries, fans
and capacitors to complete spares kits.
Standby/Back-upSystems
Standby back-up power is a critical element
of most larger power protection installations
and the most common type is a generator
(either diesel or LPG). There are, however,
sites for which a generator may be
unsuitable and so alongside a range
of reliable generators from leading
manufacturers such as SDMO, Critical Power
Supplies also provides fuel cells, UPS
flywheels, inverters and DC systems
for emergency lighting.
RackCabinets
A customer’s choice of rack cabinet or
enclosure can determine how reliable,
efficient and secure their power system is.
Critical Power Supplies stocks a variety of
principal rack cabinets and enclosures,
alongside rack accessories, special doors,
sidewalls and castors that will enable
customers to optimise their installation
for reliability, efficiency and security.
CriticalCooling
Critical Power Supplies offers the
latest, state-of-the-art critical cooling
solutions - from single racks to
containerised structures, including
self-contained or those that connect
to chilled water on site.
LegacySolutions
In UPS terms, legacy is no bad thing.
Many of today’s top products from leading
manufacturers are founded on the stable and
proven designs, mechanics and technologies
of the past. Time moves on, however, and
technology develops and there comes a
point when it is no longer feasible for
manufacturers to support a legacy system –
and that’s when a trusted and accomplished
provider like Critical Power Supplies comes
in. It offers support and information for
customers that have legacy UPS systems in
terms of how to upgrade or replace them,
documentation, advice – and whole lot more.
UPSAccessories
From battery extension packs, maintenance
bypasses, power cables, remote monitoring
panels to rack-mount kits, Critical Power
Supplies sells an assortment to enable
customers to optimise their UPS installation.
The company also offers bespoke
customisation as a service provided
by its own engineering team.
PowerConditioners
Critical Power Supplies offers a
range of power conditioners from
top manufacturers, and this includes:
Medical-grade
compliant transformers.
Single and three-phase
power conditioners.
Surge strips.
Transient Voltage Surge
Suppression devices.
Ultra Isolation transformers.
