mealduetoachild’sdeathcausedbythetoy.Theballmayposeasasuffocationhazardtochildrenundertheageofthreesoparentsareaskedtotakeawaythetoyfromchildrenthatareunderthatage.Twenty‐fivemilliontoyshavebeenrecalledsofar.“Ourapologiesanddeepestregrettothefamilyofthechildwhosuffocatedfromoneofourtoys.Itisimportanttoustomakesurethetoyswedistributearesafeandwewillbetakinggreaterprecautionsinthefuture,”CEOBernardoHeesstates.BurgerKingisworkingwiththeU.S.ConsumerProductSafetyCommissionontherecallofthePokemonBall.Itisdeterminedthatitistheplasticcontainerthatthetoycomesinthatisdangerousandnotthetoyitself.BurgerKingislookingintoimplementingnewsafetyprecautionsfortheirtoysandwillbevigilantinlookingintothetoycompaniessafetypractices.ThePokemonballshavebeendistributedinBurgerKingrestaurantsnationwide.BurgerKingrecommendsthatparentsthrowawaytheball,iftheybringintheballhalvestotheirlocalBurgerKing,theywillreceiveafreesmallorderoffrenchfries.BurgerKingwasfoundedbyJamesMcLamoreandDavidEdgertonin1954.Today,BurgerKingisthesecondlargestfastgoodhamburgerchainintheworld.BurgerKinghasover12,000restaurantsinall50statesandin73countriesandU.S.territoriesworldwide.
