    Pediatric abusive head trauma is a type o inicted traumatic brain injury that happens when a babyor young child is violently shaken with or without traumatic blunt impact o the head. It has been

    known by many terms over the years. Shaken inant syndrome has been the most widely used andrecognized term, although shaking alone may not account or all injuries. Abusive head trauma(AHT), is now used when describing an inicted injury to the head and its contents.

    This session will help you develop skills to recognize o signs and symptoms o abusive head injury,

    including those caused by both shaking and blunt impact.
