EXERCISES
Give students a restricted list of words and ask them to use them in a short argument that seems to be the opposite in feeling to the words you give them.
Process exercise for word choice, logic, and focus
Ask students to select a controversial Tweet. Ask them to explain what is missing because of the limits on number of characters. Ask students to add the parts that are missing, or ask them to create the interview questions they would need to ask the Tweeter.
Process exercise for idea development and support/evidence
Ask students to do a voiceover text for their paper drafts, as if they were in a movie, explaining the movie’s content.
