“2015 was the year of recovery. 2016 must be a year of continued momentum.”In 2015, our turnover recorded a leap of 10% compared with 2014, amounting to €e937 million. This growth is due to our acquisitions, but also due to our organic development. Our order intake for engineering also returned to growth, accounting for fourteen months of activity. These results are encouraging, considering the caution displayed by actors on a great many markets and persistently challenging economic conditions, in particular in France.
Today, a greater number of opportunities can be found outside France. 60% of our turnover was generated abroad, as against 53% in 2014. This swing in the geographical breakdown of our activity is not just a symptom of a slowing French market, but it also reflects the increasing acceleration of our international growth. Regions such as India, the Middle East and Brazil have very substantial requirements for infrastructure. Our presence has therefore been further bolstered in these three geographical zones which we now consider as domestic markets. And we remain firmly established in very many other countries besides.
Nevertheless, we also wish to maintain our strong presence in the French market, by taking part in major structural projects such as Grand Paris and developing our activities in promising fields such as services for mobility, digital intelligence and sustainable development. We also continue to contribute our support in engineering to our local clients, to local
authorities and their operators within the framework of territorial reform, by taking part in their development projects which are so essential to our country’s competitiveness and force of attraction.
In France and everywhere else in the world, the types of projects on which we are asked to work are becoming increasingly wide and varied, which requires us to demonstrate technical prowess, flexibility and responsiveness in order to stay in touch with market demands and the new constraints of a profoundly changing market. This is why we work every day to stay ever closer to our clients, improve our operating methods and increase our efficiency.
At the same time, we continue to contribute new ideas to projects entrusted to us by our clients. These ideas are the result of the innovation capabilities of our teams which have on several occasions this year received acknowledgement and reward from the profession. From climate change to the energy transition, from demographic growth to urban densification, from resource conservation to industrial transformation, it is clear that innovation is the best response that engineering can provide to the major global challenges of our era.

JOINING FORCES FOR THE CLIMATEThe signature of the Paris Agreement at the COP21 in November last year sent out a powerful signal to companies and political leaders by starting up a transition towards clean energy and by establishing a global framework for the purpose.
Egis, an official partner of COP21, offers high-value services to the worldwide market both in mitigating climate change and adapting our environment to it. Our teams work on the resilience of cites and the adaptation of buildings, transport, urban infrastructure or more widely the environment, in reaction to climate change. They also propose tools for decision-making, assessment and prevention which help our clients to act responsibly due to the enhanced information they have at their disposal. For example, the tool ROSAU, which received a “Businesses for the Environment Award” from the French Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Marine Affairs, offers a method of identifying and mapping vulnerable areas of urban networks in order to improve their resilience.
sustainable buildings for 2020, Egis is at the forefront of integrating building fully in the energy transition. Our everyday activities thus aim to make building renovations, easier and use innovation to reduce their energy bills, constantly highlight the merits of organically-sourced materials such as wood, and promote recyclability wherever possible. We also aim to increase the proportion of renewable energy employed, and intelligently re-use waste energy produced by industry. This has been illustrated by our creation of large scale urban climate control networks at Paris-Saclay, Rungis and Bordeaux. As valuable facilities to improve urban living conditions addressing

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO RISE TO THE CHALLENGES OF TOMORROW
EGIS ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTMENTSTo finance the commercial phases of innovative projects which fall within the Ecological and Energy Transition (EET), Egis and Caisse des Dépôts have founded the investment company Egis Environmental Investments (EEI). The body already funds projects in electric mobility (The New Motion) and wind power (Wind-it®, see focus on page 9).
the energy needs of cities and regions, these networks also reduce greenhouse gas emissions, a third of which comes from the production of heat for domestic and tertiary use.
Our Group has also become active in electric mobility. The environment is a crucial factor for regional authorities, as it is estimated that the transport sector is the second largest energy user and greenhouse gas emitter, after industry. In view of new habits emerging in sustainable mobility, the Egis subsidiary Easytrip France took over the solution “KiWhi Pass”, an access and payment card used by more than 1,500 drivers of electric cars, a population which is certain to grow rapidly following the conclusion of partnerships with well-known manufacturers and rental companies (Nissan, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, etc.). Carried along by this momentum, Egis is also
a shareholder of The New Motion, the European leader in electric vehicle charging, and thus promotes sustainable mobility throughout Europe.

BIM PLACES USE AT THE CENTRE OF THE PROJECTConfident that digital technology can add substantial value to our services, Egis has for many years invested in BIM (Building Information Modeling) and more generally in digital engineering processes. The digital model, which we use to design and build a structure as close as possible to the needs of users, allows our clients and stakeholders to gain a better understanding of our project and interact with our teams. It fulfils their expectations of digital continuity throughout the life cycle of their facilities (design, construction, operation).
It also offers an excellent opportunity to highlight our skills, give impetus to our services and help our sector to progress, a subject on which we are highly active, whether in the framework of the Building Digital Transition Plan or under the auspices of the projects MINnD* for Infrastructure. As a pioneer in research, training and promotion
of BIM among its partners, Egis has developed genuine expertise and earned particular recognition when it won the Silver BIM 2015 for the L2 motorway bypass in Marseille, entirely designed as a digital model. Egis also invests in big data technology, with a number of aims: improve the design of buildings and developments by taking better account of their use, adapt their operations and develop new services for our clients and end users.
RISING TO THE CHALLENGES OF THE SUSTAINABLE AND CONNECTED CITYUrban innovation lies at the very core of the issues and challenges which our company must deal with day after day. Egis employs original methods to plan cities differently and design innovation which will structure urban development, in particular in all of its technical and technological aspects, including digital intelligence.
Whether in the management of transport, public services or energy, digital is already changing the way we interact with cities. Our Group therefore advises authorities in the digital planning of their regions, through the deployment of ultra-high speed broadband (Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes departments), connectivity in public transport (contactless ticketing in Belgium), digital parking payment (Amsterdam), etc.
In addition to the efforts contributed every day through its engineering, city planning and governance consultancy activities, Egis has also entered the sphere of 3D simulators which offer unparalleled intuitive and immersive insight into the urban environment. This digital innovation lies at the heart of the Astainable® project in which we participated and which aims to make the Kazakhstan capital Astana a model of a sustainable city “à la française” by 2030.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO RISE TO THE CHALLENGES OF TOMORROW
WIND-IT®
An innovative mobile telecommunications pylon, housing vertical axis wind turbinesWind-it® is a ground-breaking technological innovation for base receiver stations which lack a reliable source of electricity. It was developed by Egis, and more specifically by Elioth (the Egis group entity behind the project) with the support of two other partners: DFI Telecom, a specialist in telecommunications towers, and Ergos Energy, a firm specialising in energy.
Using a unique shell structure with a patented geometrical form, this pylon can accommodate several high-performance vertical mast wind turbines at heights ranging from 35 to 70 metres, whilst also having space to host several operators. It can produce energy independently and, when connected to a solar-powered unit, enables mobile phone companies or tower companies to considerably reduce and potentially dispense with the traditional fuel-oil
driven generator, a costly and polluting solution. The Wind-it® tower, which is totally modular, can be scaled to produce excess energy and thereby contribute to local electricity needs. The expansion of mobile networks, the pooling of stations and growing concerns about global warming are all factors which should contribute to the development of Wind-it®. The initial target is the African market, where the potential for new base stations to be built between now and 2020 amounts to tens of thousands. At the beginning of 2015, a full-scale prototype measuring 50 metres was erected for testing and optimisation purposes. Discussions engaged with mobile phone operators and tower companies have so far yielded a contract in Madagascar and led to the submission of proposals to a number of invitations to tender.

TAKE A LOOKA CSR report with even more information and in digital format
In a world driven by social networks, the huge potential of Internet and where co-construction is key, Egis offers you a paperless CSR report with enhanced and dynamic content. Come and challenge us at www.egis-rse.fr/en/ and discover all our CSR actions online and a selection of the year’s highlights in our 2015 CSR brochure.
TRIPLE CERTIFICATIONIn 2015, the Egis Group obtained the triple certification of its performance management system in the three areas of Quality (ISO 9001), Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001) and Environment (ISO 14001). This certification rewards the Group’s efforts to build a unified sustainable performance management system.
TRANSLATE INTO ACTION ON THE GROUNDThe four major strategic strands of our corporate social responsibility policy, established in 2014, continue to set the agenda for our employees’ everyday actions:
• develop local roots,• make sustainable development (SD) a key means of differentiating our services and creating value,• ensure the widespread application of SD practices across all our businesses and in all our teams, and develop new ones,• consolidate and increase the reliability of our extra-financial reporting.
ARE ASSESSED IN A CSR MATURITY MATRIXIn 2015, the Group’s companies were given a specially designed management tool to evaluate their CSR maturity. This assessments enabled them to compare the challenges of their clients, stakeholders and regions where they operate with their own practices.
This exercise helped to identify avenues for improvement which were consequently added to the action plan for 2016.
TRANSLATE INTO SOLUTIONSEcological and energy transition will only become reality if people can imagine, develop, introduce and implement solutions and methods to consume less, better and differently. Also an official partner of COP21, Egis has become highly active in the areas of energy efficiency, tackling climate change, resilience and protection of biodiversity, through the promotion of innovative and low-energy solutions. In fact, 2015 was a year when Egis received a number of awards for these innovations (see opposite). But there is still a long way to go, which is why Egis continues to invest in R&D to help to achieve ecological and energy transition and invent the city of tomorrow which will be a great place to live for everyone. A challenge for our employees, but most of all a duty!
ARE INTEGRATED WITHIN A MANAGEMENT SYSTEMThe triple certification of our management system (see box below) and the publication of a code of integrity specifying the rules that Egis wishes to share with its business partners are measures that give further impetus, spread best practice, transfer knowledge and create bonding between Group entities.

The Middle East is a strategically important market for our Group and one of our major geographical poles. In 2015 we generated nearly e125 million in the region, accounting for 13% of our total revenue, and twice the figure of the previous year.
In the space of a few years, Egis has become a leading name in construction engineering in the Middle East in fields as wide and varied as transport, water, urban development and aviation, whilst also being a trusted locally-established firm with many offices in the region.
In July 2015, Projacs, the building project management and works supervision consultancy, joined our Group, thus substantially strengthening our influence all over the region.
Ranking among the Engineering News Record’s top 15 firms in its speciality worldwide (excluding American businesses) and with a turnover of 70 million dollars, Projacs has earned itself a solid reputation in the Middle East. With approximately twenty offices in the MENA region (Middle East, North Africa) and its own training institute, Projacs has particularly effective regional coverage, both in GCC* countries and in neighbouring nations.
The acquisition of 51% of Projacs provides a new springboard for the development of our Group, which now has 1,300 employees in the region. It allows us to extend our scope of action in the Middle East in all sectors with development potential.

Thanks to its achievements in the Middle East, Egis has reached sufficient maturity to develop its growth further in the region.
With Projacs, our Group will benefit from greater legitimacy in a large number of sectors thanks to more detailed knowledge of local players and to an enhanced service offering combining engineering and project management to the highest international standards. With Qatar gearing up for the 2022 World Cup, Saudi Arabia already planning ahead for the post-oil era and Dubai, which will be hosting the World Expo in 2020, this region offers excellent prospects. We are also closely monitoring countries which are gradually opening up to the global economy and are likely to become promising markets for Egis in the future.
Adil Guissi, Director of Middle East Pole (left)
Egis and Projacs pursue the same objectives: to develop their activity in the Middle East and mutually enhance their service
offers. Through this merger, our two firms will be able to augment their value much more than they might have done separately. As a new entity in the Group, Projacs will capitalise on its integration to continue to grow in the Middle East. Its client base is solid enough to provide it with a continuous flow of business, but to be more incisive and increase its market share as far as Oman or Iran, the contribution of Egis will be of critical importance. Through the levers generated by our areas of complementarity, we will be more competitive.

The second largest country for Egis in terms of headcount, with more than 1,900 employees, India is one of our three domestic poles.
Egis is one of the top three providers of comprehensive solutions for infrastructure engineering and project management in the country, where it generated €31 million of turnover in 2015. Building on its expertise and its in-depth knowledge of the local market, our Group is today acknowledged as one of the leading international firms active in India in roads (40% of our business) and urban and rail transport (30%), but also in water and buildings.
Through its ambitious programme “Make in India”, the Indian Government intends to encourage
the development of transport infrastructure (ports, airports and roads) all over the country, paving the way for massive investment and substantial requirements for engineering services.
Another market offering considerable growth prospects is that of smart cities. More than 100 of them have been planned by the Government, which has also introduced several initiatives to develop tourism and promote Indian heritage.
These are all significant growth opportunities for our Group in this country, but others also exist in the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, which are also part of this geographical division.
INDIA
A country with high growth potential
India is an attractive market
but is difficult to enter because it is demanding from an economic perspective. Egis has succeeded in proving its competitive edge through the quality of its proposals but also by developing its full range of skills here in the country.

In 2015, the Group ranked 13th in the table of Brazilian engineering firms.* Egis aims to reach the top 10 by continuing to develop its service ranges in the fields of roads, urban and rail transportation and aviation. It also aims to extend its Brazilian activities to include buildings, energy, wastewater treatment and urban mobility. Infrastructure development and modernisation are still high priorities in this country which spans some 8.5 million sq.km and boasts a population of 200 million.
Despite the current political and economic uncertainty in Brazil, Egis continues to have confidence in the country, where there are still substantial opportunities for growth in the medium and long terms.
BRAZIL
An industry standard in Brazilian engineering
At the end of 2015, our three Brazilian engineering firms Egis Lenc (roads, environment
and geotechnical engineering), Egis Engenharia e Consultoria (railway and urban transport) and Egis Aeroservice (airport engineering and consulting) came together to pool their know-how and expertise within a single Egis entity. This new, clearer organisation of the Brazil pole will enables us not only to improve our competitiveness but also reinforce cohesion and synergies between all our employees in order to keep developing innovative solutions for our clients.

In an environment still suffering from a decline in public sector procurement, Egis generated 40% of its 2015 turnover in France. But, despite contrasting situations between the Paris region and the rest of the country, the French market continues to offer us some excellent prospects. Buildings, roads and urban transport are areas which have enabled us to maintain our engineering and consulting activities on our home market.
Our activity in buildings in France recorded constant growth in 2015, with more than 2,000 active contracts, on projects of all scales and all types. The most ambitious of these include the engineering assignments for the French Ministry of Defence at Balard (15th arrondissement of Paris) or the Laser Mégajoule in Gironde. Less impressive but just as iconic are the new conservation unit
at the Louvre-Lens museum, the construction of new laboratories at the Reims university hospital, and several senior citizen residences in Bordeaux, Fréjus, Nantes, etc.
Our consulting activities also made their mark on the real estate projects of domestic clients such as the Bank of France, Safran or Crédit Agricole.
With this wide range of projects, we put great effort into facilitating the mobility of our resources and expertise from one region to another, so that our teams could respond in all circumstances to the different needs of our clients.
GUARANTEEING PROXIMITY: OUR SIGNATURE AND OUR MOST VALUED ASSETIn the roads market, Egis won almost half of the contracts, in terms of
value, put out for tender as part of the motorway reinvestment plan launched last year. As a result, our teams are coordinating road improvement projects on the A480 in Grenoble, the A75 south of Clermont-Ferrand and the A63 in the Landes department.
We also confirmed our leadership in consulting, transport engineering and urban mobility. Firstly in the Paris region, through our many ongoing assignments relating to Grand Paris Express, but also in the Lyon region, with the EPCM of the extension of the city metro’s line B to Hôpitaux Sud and the management and coordination of the Avenir Métro programme.
Our upstream activities in procurement, structuring, governance and communication are also becoming more frequent, to the benefit of key nationwide accounts in rail and urban transport, most notably SNCF Réseau and Société du Grand Paris.
At the same time, Egis has taken the lead in the deployment of urban

In an increasingly competitive environment, Egis is adapting to market change and has reinforced
its positions on profitable market segments in 2015. We have added a few excellent references to our CV in the areas of transport, roads and systems… Building on our increasing presence in the different projects surrounding Grand Paris, we remain attentive to the wealth of opportunities in new business zones and transportation hubs, in particular around future stations. We also wish to play a major role among French players in urban planning on the world stage, a sector which offers our engineers an excellent outlet to demonstrate their expertise and innovation capabilities.

The overall growth of our Buildings business in France can be attributed to the combination of two key factors: on the one hand
our growing proximity with our clients to support them in conceiving, developing and delivering their projects, and on the other hand our ability to work on all types of buildings (industry, tertiary, accommodation, healthcare, etc.), some of which were more resilient than others and even recorded an upturn in 2015. Our Buildings France teams have also been supporting our Buildings projects internationally, which paid off in 2015 when we won a contract to project-manage the construction of the Airbus A330 assembly hall in Tianjin in China.

cable car transport in France. After contributing to the project of the city of Brest, which will launch the first urban cable car in France in 2016, our teams were awarded an Assistance to Client contract for the creation of a cable-mounted transport system in Orleans.
The area of energy, with the heating and cooling network on the Saclay urban campus and the urban heating network of the Saint-Jean Belcier business park in Bordeaux, and that of water, also contributed to our turnover in France.

MOBILITY in 2015
SUPPORTING CAREER PATHS, ENABLING INDUCTIONFaced with markets that are changing fast, we react with agility to place our teams where business and growth opportunities are. We also create career paths, foster bridges between job categories and activity sectors and support geographic mobility.
By deploying our pay and mobility policies abroad, we have given the Group the means to develop in new zones. An international Comp and Bens (compensation and benefits) policy has been introduced to provide better management of pay packages and develop benefits for all our employees based outside France (pensions, health insurance, provident schemes). We also ensure that employees new to the group following our recent acquisitions and projects are given the best possible induction, fully aligned with the Group’s values and processes. In the Middle East, seminars, induction courses and pay grids all contribute to this on-boarding. In Brazil, integration has been facilitated by the three Egis subsidiaries coming together and the creation of a human resources department that conducts a unified employment and skills development policy.
PROTECTING OUR EMPLOYEES AROUND THE WORLDSafeguarding the health and safety of our employees is an absolute imperative for us. We strive to maintain our high standards in worksite safety on all of our projects by deploying the highest possible norms whatever the country concerned.
In countries where the political environment is less stable, we have reinforced our security policy by rolling out specific processes, taking care
to cover all staff members, whether Egis employees or service providers working temporarily on projects.
We constantly optimise our chain of delegation and internal responsibility in the area of health and safety. We also regularly assess our areas for improvement and points of vigilance by holding safety audits whose findings contribute to our action plans.
In 2015 we deployed e-learning courses across the Group to raise awareness among all our employees regarding our Safety Attitude approach. This awareness tool helps to spread our main occupational health and safety principles to the widest possible numbers.
SUPPORTING TALENT AND FOSTERING VITAL RESOURCES FOR THE FUTUREMeeting our performance objectives while catering to the aspirations of our employees is also one of our priorities. This is why we place skill development at the centre of our human resources policy. As such, the Group gives each individual the means to develop in their own

field or in a connected field, move from an operational role to a support role or to a project, or even change career path.
In the area of training, Egis concluded an academic cycle in “Managerial Excellence” in its Egis Campus university, along with a new “project management” course, designed to reinforce managerial skills and accompany teams in mastering all of the facets of a project, including the environment, safety, technical hazards, etc.
To keep up with emerging new job categories, nearly 10,000 hours of training were provided to our operational staff in digital modelling and BIM (Building Information Modelling) to allow them to learn all the latest developments in this production standard which Egis has developed as a specific expertise.
And in its ambition to promote equality of opportunity in the workplace, Egis also ran a number of initiatives to encourage gender mix and diversity in our teams, including a mentoring programme aimed at high-potential female employees within the Group. This first campaign produced some very positive results, contributing managerial support to the firm’s talents and opening the way
to many more sessions in the future.
Building on employment and skill development forward planning initiative started up more than 5 years ago, we also conducted far-reaching actions to anticipate how some job categories are likely to evolve. This led to forward-looking analyses of job category change which
identified discrepancies between the skills possessed today and those that will be required tomorrow. These indicators allow us to forward plan the acquisition of new know-how by our teams and anticipate our production organisation processes in a global market.
