Welcome to St. William Parish!

We are glad that you are here with us today. We invite you to learn more about St. William and learn how to get connected to our faith community. Registration information is available from the parish office off the school parking lot inside Door #5.

Learning About Catholicism? We would like to share our faith in Jesus Christ with you. For information about how to become Catholic call RCIA Coordinator Mike Schoeder at 608-289-7939.

Marrying Soon? - Congratulations! God who has loved you from the beginning has chosen you in Christ. We are eager to share God’s love with you for this very important day. Please call us at 608-755-5180, option #3 to plan a wedding, six months in advance if possible. We also encourage those who previously married outside the Catho-lic Church to call and learn how to enter into the Church’s sacrament.

Baptizing a Child? – Congratulations! We are happy to share in the baptism of a child. Classes for parents are held on the third Monday of each month.

It is important for both parents to be a part of this preparation for Bap-tism. Therefore if you work the night shift, please let us know and another time can be scheduled for you.

Because the role of Godparents is also important in helping to share, support and nurture your child’s growth in faith, they are most wel-come to attend with you.

Pastoral Care for the Sick: If you or a loved one are in need of any pastoral care please contact the parish office. For an emergency please call 414-429-5790. Anointing of the Sick, Reconciliation, and Holy Communion are all provided for on request. Fr. Jim is happy to visit with anyone in need, no matter their religion.

Be Reconciled to God! (2 Cor 5:20) – If you need forgiveness for a specific sin or past hurt, the sacrament of reconciliation is offered at St. William on Thursdays at 8 am and 6pm, Saturdays 3:00 pm, or by appointment.

St. William School – We welcome students of all faiths to enroll at St. William Catholic School. To schedule a tour with principal Diane Rebout, please call 608-755-5184

Any requests for information can be made to the parish office off the school parking lot inside Door #5.

October 17, 2021 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time “For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45) If you held a mirror up to your life, would it reflect God’s love and mercy? If you are struggling with this, try changing your attitude from “I want more” to “thank you God for everything you have giv-en me, I have enough to share”. This change in perspective will bring you joy through service to others. Pray daily to become less self-centered and to become more God-centered.

Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) starting now (White Book)and in approximately 6 months you could be done.

Please read pages 251-280.

The Catechism provides much knowledge about the Creed, Prayers, the 10 Com-mandments, the sacraments and more.

SAVE THE DATE: Our first ever Lighting the Way for Women will be on Thursday, Dec. 9th from 6-8:30 pm. Lighting the Way is an event for women that is meant to inspire and en-rich them with scripture, prayer, music and time together. We will be re-flecting on the life of Mary, our Blessed Moth-er. The location will either be in the St. William Narthex or the Parish Hall, de-pending on how many women sign up, (more info on signing up to be released at a later date). Please plan on hosting a table to deco-rate, along with a group of your favorite women, on the evening of Dec. 9th!

The Disciple Maker Index Survey is now open! Please Read and Help! It’s official! The Disciple Maker Index Survey opens this week and we need your help! Please help us participate by completing a 10-15 minute survey as soon as possible.

Go to https://portal.catholicleaders.org/d/k5t9b2 There are also opportunities to complete the survey after daily and Sunday Mass and you can

obtain a paper copy in the Narthex or Parish Office or by contacting Terri Runde at 608-755-5180 #3.

The survey will only be available from October 14, 2021 – November 22, 2021 and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on our parish’s efforts to help you grow. All responses will be confidential and the parish will only receive information about the community as whole. We are trying to get the highest response rate possible. This information will be invaluable to Fr. Jim and our various ministries as we plan for the future and strive to be the best disciples we can be. We will receive the results this spring/summer at which time we will share what we have learned with the entire parish. Thank you for helping with this important project!

Walking with Moms in Need Kick-off Session

Walking with Moms in Need is a nation-wide effort to identify what parishes do to care for pregnant women and moms in need in par-ishes and dioceses across the US. Bishop Hying invites each parish to send rep-resentatives to the Kick-Off Session. If this project interests you, please contact Fr. Jim Leeser to volunteer. With your help we will discover current re-sources and learn about unmet needs. Learn more at our Kick-off Session on Satur-day, Oct. 23 • Location: Holy Name Heights, 702 S. High Point Rd., Madison • Training 3:00-4:15 PM
