CREATING A MOVIE WITH PICTURES IN WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER

Movies can be made on your computer with just pictures and audio, using Windows Movie Maker.

1. To begin, go to All Programs Accessories Windows Movie Maker.

2. The first time you open Windows Movie Maker, you will see a blank area under Collections. Nearly

all work that you will be doing on your movie will be done by choosing options under the heading

Movie Tasks (located on the left side of the screen).

3. To choose pictures for your movie, under Capture Video, choose Import Pictures.

4. Navigate to the folder containing the pictures you would like to add. Choose the pictures you want

by highlighting them. Then click Import.

5. The photos you have chosen appear under Collections. To add them to your movie, click on each

photo and drag them down to their spot on the timeline below.

6. Once you have added all your pictures, they will appear on the timeline below.

7. To add transitions between the pictures, under Edit Movie, click View video transitions.

8. Choose a transition by clicking on it and dragging down to the box between the two images where

you want the transition. A preview of the transition appears in the monitor at right.

9. To add a title to the movie, under Edit Movie click Make titles or credits.

10. Choose Add Title at the beginning of the movie.

11. In the boxes that appear, type your title. You can even add a subtitle in the lower box. When done

click Done, add title to the movie. The preview of the title appears in the monitor.

12. To add audio/music to the movie, first make certain the movie is set up for project timeline. To do

this, click Show Storyboard so that it changes to Show Timeline.

13. Under Capture Video, click Import Audio or music

14. In your music folder, choose the piece of music you wish to add. Then click Import.

15. The music file you have chosen appears in your collection.

16. To add the music, drag and drop it in the part of the timeline marked Audio/Music.

17. The music piece now appears on the timeline.

18. You can lengthen or shorten the time/appearance of each picture by clicking on the picture to be

altered, then clicking on the black arrow located on the side of the picture and dragging that to the

appropriate length.

19. You can lengthen or shorten the music by doing the same thing.

20. When you have made all your changes, click the play button on the monitor. Your movie and music

will begin.
