This is a blank template from windows movie maker, the program I have used to assemble and create my final product. I will import the recorded videos on my iphone 5 with a USB cable

This is the opening scene of the video, where I introduce my technology and say what it helps to do

This is the first scene I recorded and imported on windows movie maker. There is chandan who is initially running faster than his two friends, although this is destined to change

this is the second scene which has been recorded and inserted in movie maker. It shows the development of the situation: chandan is starting to get tired

third scene to be recorded with long shot. We clearly see chandan is nearly exhausted and finds it difficult to even walk.

Fourth scene. Inserted right after the third scene and recorded after as well. Long shot too and we can finally state that chandan, at the fifth football action, crawls on the floor and has real breathing

difficulties.

This is the fifth scene, which consists in a close shot on Chandan lying on the floor. It’s an extension of the final part of the previous scene. His two friends tell him he cannot continue like this and he therefore suggests he will be shortly asking a specialist for help.

The final scene has been slowed down, it is in fact a slow motion where I show enrico helping chandan to stand up

I have added the credits to the video with a black background using “insert, background” and a times new roman font 36.

I also inserted the location where the video has been recorded with the same background as before.

I inserted all the scenes in the previous blank template

I regulated the volume of the music so that it does not cover what the actors say

I cropped some scenes in order to eliminate the bloopers and unnecessary parts

I changed some background from black to blue

I decided to insert on of my favorite Italian songs in the background: SBATTI

Finally, I decided to retouch the last things such as any colors or visual effects

Evaluation of Create section

I believe the create section was the best and most fun part of the whole assessment. I extremely enjoyed recording my video with an Iphone 5 and subsequently put everything together using windows movie maker because I had the possibility to learn and make other people learn facts about a technology that affects the world today by helping people to become fitter. I think I was very organised throughout the whole project and I feel I was organised as I had never been before in a Computer technology assessment. I met every single deadline and if I did not, it was for a very important reason such as: the file did not open. I worked extremely well together with Pietro Bosani, Enrico Ventura and Chandan Diena and I feel we were probably in the top labouring groups in the class. We managed to work rapidly and thoroughly each week in order to achieve the creation of a fantastic video full of interesting aspects. I put quite a lot of effort into this project because my main goal is to achieve a level seven at the end of the next report in ICT. I also put a lot of effort in this

project because creating a website had always been one of my dreams since I was very little. Now I can say that thanks to Mr. Mariani’s teachings, I have learnt how to create in a fast and efficient way a very good video. I think that next time I can improve even more by remaining on task and concentrated throughout the whole hour of ICT and not get distracted at times. In fact the only problem which I encountered during this stage was that again I lost much time during lessons and I had to catch up for homework. Sometimes, I fell behind in the creation of the product and therefore, more homework had be completed. As a result of not working so much in class as I could have done, the time plan was disrupted and therefore adjustments had to be made. I also forgot to take screenshots and produce a process journal for the first part of the creation. This meant that then I had to work backwards and lose a great amount of precious time which I could have used for other important things. I suggest, as I have already said before, that for the next assessment I shall manage my time better and be more accurate in the creation. I should not miss or leave back stages such as the process journal and its complete explanation, including the minimal characteristics. The video in the end turned out to be very successful because it meets most of the Design Specification requirements. I will now test it and see what can be improved. I am sure that this project has gone much better than the previous one because I learned many new skills regarding how to create a website and I am sure I will be able to easily repeat what I have done many times in future.

Results of test Table

This test table shows that in general the video meets all the design specifications apart from a small amount of them. There are many more yes’ than no’s in the second column, and this shows there were more positive aspects rather than negative ones. However, there are still improvements I could have done to make the video just as I intended to do at the start of the design stage, where I designed my product. It is not as eye-catching as we initially wanted it to be, and that is surely what we should have improved on. For next time to improve I will need to dedicate more time and effort on improving the issues, without giving up and accepting the problem, for example when we let the video not be recorded in full HD and keeping it that way. I have in fact thoroughly followed the design specification but still, I had to modify some expectations and terms. This way of testing the final product is extremely helpful to underline the positive and negative aspects of the website, so that I can state and analyze what has to be improved and maybe changed. I understood my product included my names which makes it very personal and copyright free. I don’t think I have to change any particular things in my video because it is very well done. Overall however, the table shows that I was able to maintain most points in my design specification, so the video is clearly positive.

Do you generally appreciate the product?

The colours are maybe slightly repetitive throughout the whole video but, as a whole, I really appreciate it. The scenes have been recorded perfectly and I like how you have used a few actors, the same angles and created an effective and informative video.

Does it fulfill the problem?

It definitely does. I did not manage to carefully read all the text due to short time but it seems to me it is very informative!

Are there any improvements I could make?

I would suggest you to change the colors of the video and use more sparkly ones and make the initial font a slightly more interesting in some parts, especially for the headline.

Keeping in mind that four 15 year olds create it yes! It is very good.

Do you generally appreciate the product?

I truly appreciate it because thanks to it I learnt everything on this technology about which I knew very little and I am probably going to use from now on..i want to get fitter!

Does it fulfill the problem?

Are there any improvements I could make?

I cannot see any evident improvements to make, also because I am not such an expert and I believe that if I recorded and constructed a video by myself, it would look far less better

than the one you devised.

This method of testing gave me an overview of how the video I created is appreciated by the wider community who learnt new things about an important technology that brings

health benefits to any person. I can see that two people made many positive comments on the video and I must therefore believe that it is has been well thought out and created. Mario suggested to change the colors because maybe he didn’t like them as much but, as a whole, he said it was good.

How successful the product has beenAfter having carried out these two test it is clear to me now what is good and what is bad about this video. The first test, the actual test table, gave a more specific view of each small problem of the video, saying what is wrong and what could be done to improve. Meanwhile the two surveys gave a much more general view on the main aspects of the video. This helped me to backup and confirm the statements in the first test table. Therefore I also have a better security of reliability, because I don’t only have my personal grading and analysis, but I also have a sample audience to compare to mine. In fact the ideas in both cases are very similar, meaning that my opinion of the video has similarities with what other people think about it. Mainly these two tests highlight that the content and quality of my video is the major strength of the website and the visual appearance is the major weakness. My results tell me that these two were the most evident characteristics of my product.

Evaluation – Impact of product

After having created my final video, I am now surely able to analyze it and highlight its main pros and cons, as well as different ways in which I could improve it. As a whole, I think that my simple but informative and effective video came out quite well and I am very satisfied about it. I am sure it will be able to attract people very easily and convince them to learn more about the health-related technology app “Endomondo” which was designed a couple of years ago and became available on the app store not long ago. Its function is to increase a person’s level of fitness by following the programs which the application gives you. Moreover, I am sure the video I have recorded and put together fully communicates to the reader the main information and key facts and points about the technology.

However, I think that my video could have been improved in some ways. For example, I could have inserted one more scene which would have made the video more interesting and attracting. Next, I could have used one more colour to compose my background such as red, for the same reason: make the video more interesting and clear to visualize. To conclude, I would like to add the fact that in the video, the actual way the Endomondo

application works is not so clear to understand and this could compromise the clearness of the video. In fact, I do not think that my website is perfect. Well, nothing is perfect.

Throughout the process of creating my final product, I have to confess that I made some changes. In fact, there is a slight difference between our chosen designs and the final video. For example, the font of the writing is very different since, whilst drawing it, I had imagined it in another way. Moreover, on which certain fonts were not available and I we therefore had to improvise and use a new font. Then, I added an unexpected last slide thanks to which I was able to give out more info about me and the creators of the video (Pietro Bosani, Chandan Diena and Enrico Ventura) and another one which mentioned the place where the video had been recorded. This was how people watching the video could understand who had created it and where it had been recorded.. Furthermore, the images and scenes I was going to include, were not positioned in the center of the page but one on each side of the video. In the end, to make things easier and more organized, I decided use the same coloured background for all the video and not include any particular transition effects.

Regarding the use of my plan table and the Gantt chart, I have to say that they turned out to be extremely helpful and they guaranteed my full organization. In fact, I exactly knew what to do for homework at home each time as well as what to do in class each lesson and how much time to spend on each activity from working on the designs, annotating them, evaluating them to creating my final video. Thanks to these two, it was much easier to complete all the work the teacher assigned me. One of the things I found the hardest was creating my process journal since it had to be in complete detail and I had to explain thoroughly everything I did whilst creating the video. This took me a lot of time do although I am now happy about it and satisfied. Creating the video was also quite difficult for me since I am not used to work on a program such as windows movie maker. I found challenging to reflect what I had drawn in my design on the computer and so, in the end, the video came out differently from the design number 1. It took me quite a lot of time to adjust the different sizes and fonts of the writing, position the different images in the right places, cut the videos in the correct moments, include the best music and create the perfect attracting background.

To conclude, I would like to say that this project, in my opinion, was fantastic. In fact, I really enjoyed it for many reasons. I am very proud of my work and especially of my video, which I consider very captivating, attractive, informative, unique and original. I know there could be some improvements although I still like it how it is. I have to say that thanks to the Computer Technology expert Mr. Mariani I understood everything I was taught and never had any doubts or felt unsecure whilst doing or creating pieces of work such as the Gantt chart on Excel and the video on Windows movie maker. Then, I have to say that this project for me has been also very important since we helped the community that surrounds us by

giving out information about a single calamity (Deepwater Horizon oil spill) which humans unfortunately caused. The areas of interaction which regarded the project were Health and Social Education and Environment. This is because we are creating a video which informs people about the researched technology that can have a positive impact on your health and analyses how ‘we’ (people) have caused these health problems and how we can avoid them happening again in future. This project also links to the A.O.I. Environment because, in my case, the chosen technology brings health benefits only if utilized outdoor, in a park and in the middle of the society because it involves running. By carrying out this assignment I feel that I have achieved my goal: create a fantastic video which informs people on a technology that can have a positive impact on your health, in this case the “Endomondo Application.”
