Spring Creek ISD students were recently sent home with the 2016-17 Inter-District Student Transfer Applica-tion. Inter-student transfers are granted for one regular school year at a time. Parents wishing to have their child return to Spring Creek ISD for the 2016-17 school year must complete and return the 2016-17 Inter-District Student Transfer Application by Thursday, May 19, 2016. Spring Creek ISD retains the right to accept or reject any and all transfer applications, based on an individual evaluation of the following: 1. Grades. The student must have maintained at least a 70 average in each of his/her classes the schoolyear
immediately preceding the transfer request 2. Attendance. The student must have maintained at least a 90 percent attendance rate in the school year im-
mediately preceding the transfer request. 3. Test Scores. The student must have met passing standards on all applicable STAAR, or other exit or grade-
level testing, including but not limited to TPRI, Terra Nova 3, and other applicable achievement tests. 4. Disciplinary History. The student must not have received discipline referrals in the school year immediately
preceding the transfer request. 5. Outstanding Balance(s). The student must not owe any outstanding monetary balances to Spring Creek ISD
for the school year immediately preceding the transfer request. Existing transfer students are reviewed annually to confirm their continued eligibility for transfer status for the next school year. Determinations for inter-district transfer requests will be made during the early summer. Parents submitting ap-plications will be notified in writing of their child’s inter-district transfer acceptance or denial.

Eighth grade students Emilie Gray, Hannah Green and Kamryn Phares were awarded this week for their essays in a contest sponsored by the Borger Rotary Club. Emilie Green received first place for her essay and a $100 gift card. Hannah Green and Kamryn Phares were both awarded with second place and a &75 gift card each. The purpose of this essay contest is to promote Rotary’s ethical standards expressed in Rotary’s Four-Way Test. The Four-Way Test asks the following questions:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Our students along with their teacher, Amy Hogan, were invited to attend a luncheon this past Tuesday, and each student read their essay to the Borger Rotary Club. Congratulations to these outstanding ladies for their master-ful writing and achievements.
