2002-2016 ASPEN MEDICAL EUROPE – Warehouse Supervisor

Supervise and manage team of Distribution Warehouse Operatives, handling inbound and outbound goods on a daily basis, crossed trained all staff members to deal with several different types of outbound orders and several types of inbound goods in material whilst working to the company’s high compliance expectations and Health & Safety guidelines.

Using IT dispatch terminal collected information and stats about products stored on-site to aid the re-arrangement of the warehouse layout, this meant that our most popular products were closer to our designated packing area, this process has saved time on picking which entail means we can get more orders out the door, giving the team/company a more ‘Lean’ environment.

Also regularly used initiative to aid continual improvement within Warehouse and the processes. Replaced old fashion paper tear off Export Packing Sheets with an MS Excel Export packing sheet saving the company money and also improving the archiving system at the same time by having it all computerized instead of in boxes off-site. Also replaced the old fashion method of hand writing customer’s address onto a sticky label by creating a file in MS Word for all customers’ address that can be printed at a click of a button.

Quality Assurance Champion – this entailed regular meetings to discuss and find areas for improvement, whilst also heavily considering health & safety and compliance within the workplace. Also an on-site Fire Marshal, duties were to secure particular zones of the company during drills and real time alarms, check to make sure all staff had exited properly and appropriately. Also previously an on-site First Aider.

Nominated as a representative for several departments via a vote to be the employee’s rep during consultation period whilst company looked into closure and once closure was confirmed represented employees during redundancy talks.

Picking and packing export customers’ orders, UK orders, NHS orders and Sample orders whilst handling internal and external goods in.

Liaise with Customer Service Department, mainly their Supervisor & Manager to help hit monthly pre-set targets for outbound orders.

Regularly use KPI’s to measure performance in all areas. Created several MS Excel spreadsheets to use as tool’s to help with the day to day running and

improving of the warehouse to help hit our targets. Also use TNT & UPS shipper service on a daily basis. Due to premature redundancies also had to take on extra responsibilities that were handled by

other employees with different roles within the company, for example; receipt and record all incoming goods in PO’s into new JD Edwards computer system, release orders for pick packers on a daily basis, handle backorder releases, inventory control/management and stock checks/movements (Logistics coordinator), book out via DHL, TNT or FedEx export parcels ready for collection, record all domestic customers tracking information into new JD Edwards computer system (Customer Service), rewrite and publish entire work instructions for all current and future tasks within the warehouse department to incorporate changes because of integration of JD Edwards computer system and the distribution warehouse relocation (QARA), trained an entire team on new JD Edwards computer system to meet training deadline (JD Edwards contractor), work very closely and aid/assist the French team during the transition period of the distribution warehouse move and cutover times, 2 daily Skype meetings to discuss schedule/plans, organise all product moves whilst keeping the day to day business running, be the ‘go-to’ person for new Customer Services in Ashby-de-la-Zouch for all customer queries, shipping queries, documentation issues, work 3+ months with no direct Manager to report to (Commercial Operations Manager).
