Manage powerTo conserve electricity, try the following:

• Turn on the printer's Sleep Mode feature, and then select the option for theshortest time. After the printer has been inactive for this period of time, the printerwill go into low-power mode. To configure this feature, touch (eco button)on the printer’s control panel display, touch Sleep, and then touch the desiredoption.

• Use the printer's Schedule On and Off feature, and then select the days and timeyou want the printer to turn on and turn off automatically. For example, you canschedule the printer to turn on at 8am and turn off at 8pm from Monday to Friday. In this way, you will save energy during the night and weekends. To configure thisfeature, touch (eco button) on the printer's control panel display, touchSchedule On and Off, and then set the time to turn on and off the printer.

• Adjust the screen brightness to a dimmer setting. To configure this feature, touch (eco button) on the printer's control panel display, touch Screen

Brightness, and then set the desired option.

NOTE: The printer's Sleep Mode and Schedule On and Off features aretemporarily not available if one or more of the ink cartridges are missing. After thecartridge is reinstalled, these features resume.

CAUTION: HP recommends that you replace any missing cartridges as soon aspossible to avoid print quality issues and possible extra ink usage or damage to theink system. Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are missing.

Optimize printing suppliesTo optimize printing supplies such as ink and paper, try the following:

• Recycle used original HP ink cartridges through HP Planet Partners. For moreinformation, visit www.hp.com/recycle.

• Optimize paper usage by printing on both sides of the paper. If the printer has anHP automatic two-sided printing accessory (duplexer), see Print on both sides(duplexing).

• Save ink and paper when printing web content with HP Smart Print. For moreinformation, visit www.hp.com/go/smartprint.

• Change the print mode to a draft setting. The draft setting uses less ink.• Do not clean the printhead unnecessarily. This wastes ink and shortens the life of

the cartridges.

discerned textually.

1194.21(a) Partially Supports. Keyboard

access exists for functions that

can be identified with text labels,

with some exceptions. A mouse

or other pointing device may be

required for some of these

functions.

Some items within the Installer

and Printer Assistant are not

accessible using the keyboard

functions or speech recognition

software.

Applications shall not disrupt or disable activated

features of other products that are identified as

accessibility features, where those features are

developed and documented according to industry

standards. Applications also shall not disrupt or

disable activated features of any operating system

that are identified as accessibility features where

the application programming interface for those

accessibility features has been documented by the

manufacturer of the operating system and is

available to the product developer.

properly when using certain high

contrast display settings or the

use of Dragon Naturally Speaking

and JAWS (screen reader).

A well-defined on-screen indication of the current

focus shall be provided that moves among

interactive interface elements as the input focus

changes. The focus shall be programmatically

exposed so that Assistive technology can track

focus and focus changes.

1194.21(c) Partially Supports. The current

focus is identified visually and

audibly, and assistive technology

can track focus as it changes,

with some exceptions.

Focus is not tracked properly

within the HP Officejet Pro 276dw

Multifunction Printer support

applications. Some links/pages in

the Printer Assistant do not have

focus when initially opened.

Sufficient information about a user interface

element including the identity, operation and state

of the element shall be available to Assistive

technology. When an image represents a program

element, the information conveyed by the image

must also be available in text.

1194.21(d) Partially Supports. Some

information about user interface

elements may not be available to

assistive technology. Text

equivalents for some program

element images may not exist.

Some program elements are not

identified to the user by JAWS in a

correct manner. Difficulties for a

user with JAWS and Dragon

Naturally Speaking (DNS) include:

tabbing order; radio button, check

boxes, and links; maintained

focus, selection changes;

software messages. This

evaluation is based on the SW

driver (the UI shown in the PC

software interface).

When bitmap images are used to identify controls,

status indicators, or other programmatic elements,

the meaning assigned to those images shall be

consistent throughout an application's

performance.

1194.21(e) Supports. Images used to identify

programmatic elements have

consistent meaning throughout

the application.

Multifunction Printer provides

redundant visual cues when

color conveys information,

indicates action, prompts for

responses, or distinguishes

visual elements. (For example,

text labels are used with colors to
