CPE/Enterprise Demarcation – ATN Series

The ATN Series are multi-service CPE’s (customer premise

equipment) focused at the edge of metropolitan networks

and mobile networks. They can be equipped with FE, GE

and 10GE ports. The ATN and NE40E product series can

be used together to build an end-to-end layer 2 metro

Ethernet access or mobile backhaul network. The ATN

Series are aimed to help carriers overcome challenges over

resources, costs and services at the metro access layer.

When cooperating with the U2000, the Huawei NMS, and

ATN Series can help decrease the total cost of ownership

(TCO) for the network in an integrated manner and increase

efficiency for deployment and O&M.

Product Features

Layer 2 Capabilities and Protection

ATN product supports rich set of Layer 2 features including IEEE802.1q,

IEEE802.1p and IEEE 802.1ab. The ATN Series support G.8032 ERPS for

fast convergence. Other than Ethernet protection, MPLS techniques LSP

1:1, PW redundancy are also supported to provide alternative protection

schemes. The ATN series can provide carrier-class 50ms switching

protection.

Advance MPLS and Layer 3 Capabilities

ATN series products deliver MPLS transport for advanced Layer 2 and

Layer 3 VPN services as well as Pseudowire Emulation Edge to Edge

(PWE3). ATN products also offers full suite routing features including RIP,

OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP4.

Enhanced OAM

As network evolves from circuit to packet switched, it is critical for

carriers to deploy advanced OAM capabilities to monitor the health and

performance of the network, services offered and rapid fault location.

ATN Series supports:

• IEEE Std 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management (CFM)

• IEEE Std 802.3ah (Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM)

• ITU-T Y.1731 Performance Monitoring:

• Other than Ethernet OAM, ATN Series also supports MPLS-TP OAM

Enhanced QoS

As today’s network carries not only multiple services but also has

different SLA towards each service and user. ATN supports a variety

of techniques to ensure QoS and SLA is maintained.

• Simple traffic classification

• Complex traffic classification

• Traffic policing and shaping

• Congestion avoidance and management

• Levels of HQoS that enables more specific scheduling

• MPLS DiffServ and MPLS TE that enables comprehensive

combination between QoS and MPLS

• Supports 512 flow queue and 64 subscriber queue per box

• Supports ingress metering per port, per port per CoS or VLAN

• Supports up to 512 ingress meters per box

Synchronization Technology

The robust clock distribution strategy of the ATN products

guarantees that a change in traffic conditions does not negatively

impact traffic. ATN series supports IEEE 1588V2 and synchronous

Ethernet. The ATN products clock solution fully satisfies requirements

for high-precision clocks on mobile backhaul networks.
