The Catalonia Institute of Construction Technology, ITeC, is an independent non-profitmaking organization that carries out its work in the area of operations intended to further the progress of Construction.
ITeC is structured into Areas, Research Programme and Services. The Constructive Process Area works on the creation of information, methodology and tools (software), which are applicable to the execution and management of each constructive process phase.
The Quality Area promotes, evaluates and endorses qual-ity. Activities include ensuring quality in companies, the evaluation of technical specifications and product certifi-cation. This area includes activities related to Economic Construction Analysis.
Maintenance and Rehabilitation Area produces informa-tion, methodology and tools (software), for the planning and management of maintenance and for rehabilitation analysis and intervention. The Research Programme is the infrastructure for research projects development. The following research lines are open:
• Environment and Construction• Construction and New Requirements• Existing Construction
The ITeC staff is made up of a multidisciplinary team of 100 persons.
