The enchanting state of Sarawak is Malaysia’s largest state, endowed with the world’s richest and most diverse ecosystem. Sarawak has ancient rainforest canopies, the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia; squirrels and snakes that can glide through the air, mouse deer the size of kittens, pitcher plants that eat insects and even relish the occasional small mammal. In fact, there are countless species of flora and fauna, yet to be discovered.
From pristine underwater marine life and untouched coral reefs to rich heritage and from wilderness to modern city landscape, Sarawak is a potpourri of experiences appreciated by travellers from all over the world. Head into Sarawak’s interiors and your heartbeat will flutter at the fascinating and enchanting dances of the multi-ethnic tribes living harmoniously with each other.
Indeed, Sarawak is home to 28 ethnic groups; each with its own distinct language, culture and lifestyle. The Ibans form the major ethnic group on this land with about 30.1 per cent of the total population for the year 2000 census. The Chinese who generally live in the cities are the second largest group at 26.7 per cent, followed by the Bidayuh, Melanau and other native tribes of Sarawak. The Malays also constitute a large portion (23 per cent) of the population as well, mainly concentrated along the coast. The organising committee will not assume any responsibility for accidents, losses or damages as well as for delays or modifications in the programme

The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rain forest, and often return to the centre at feeding time. Thanks to the successful breeding programme at Semenggoh there is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orang utan mother with a young baby. The centre is 30 mins drive from Kuching and another 20 mins on foot.
Along the way visitors pass by the ethno-botanical gardenswith their unique collection of rain-forest plants. Semenggoh also has a number of short collection of rain-forest plants. After the visit we will proceed to the Sarawak Pottery Factory for a short visit.

Mulu Show CavesIn Borneo, deep in Sarawak’s mountainous forest, lie the most spectacular caves on earth, the Gunung Mulu National Park. Over millennia the flow of water draining from the slopes of Gunung Mulu towards the sea has cut deep gorges through the Park’s limestone mountains and, within the rock itself, a complex network of vast caves has been formed.
Since 1978 these caves have been the focus for a succession of expeditions. As we move into the 21st Century, humanity appears to have explored to the limits of our environment. Using technology we can photograph the surface of distant planets, probe the immensity of space, scan the beds of the deepest oceans, image the inside of living bodies and picture the surface of structures to microscopic detail. In such a world, it might be imagined that there is no true exploration left to be done. But this would be untrue.
Under the surface of our planet lies a parallel world, a world of great beauty and mystery formed over thousands of years by the most elemental of forces, the passage of water through rock. This world, the domain of caves, remains largely unexplored. In northern Sarawak, the Mulu Caves is still making progress on this journey of discovery.
Even though only partially explored, the vast caves of Gunung Mulu National Park are believed to be one of the world’s largest and the four show caves offer visitors an unforgettable encounter with nature at her most majestic.
Day 01 Arrival transfer and check into Royal Mulu Resort. Transfer to Mulu National Park headquarters, and proceed on foot along a wooden plank walk through virgin rainforest for 45 minutes to the entrance of Deer Cave, the world’s largest cave passage and Lang Cave. After exploring the caves, proceed to bats observatory to observe bats flying out of caves entrance at late evening (only confine to fine weather) Return via same plank walk to park headquarters and transfer back to resort. Dinner and overnight at resort.
Day 02 After breakfast, journey by longboat along the Melinau River to the Wind Cave, and explore the King’s Room, a remarkable display of spectacular stalagmites. Continue by boat to the Clearwater Cave, where a tributary of Melinau emerges from deep underground. Explore the Clearwater Cave, the longest cave passage in Southeast Asia, and view the rock formations of the Young Lady. Picnic lunch at Clearwater summer huts and later on enjoy a swim at Clearwater spring. Late afternoon return transfer by longboat to resort. Dinner and overnight at resort.
Day 03 Breakfast at resort. Free at own leisure until transfer to Mulu airport for departure flight.

Bako National ParkThis small peninsula, 1 ½ hours from Kuching by car and boat, is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems, giving it a remarkable diversity of animal and plant life. Bako’s most famous residents are the bizarre proboscis monkeys, and it is also home to silvered langurs (leaf monkeys), long-tailed macaque monkeys, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards as well as hundreds of different bird species. Fascinating plant life includes mangroves, strangling figs, carnivorous pitcher plants and symbiotic ant plants. Unique geological features mark the coastline, including the famous Sea Stack, whilst well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches.
