CPD ON “EFFECTIVE LEARNING FOR THE SLOW LEARNERS”
Proceeding with the professional training and development of the
teachers, a workshop was recently conducted by Ms.Sanghamitra
on 9th February .The topic of the session was “Effective Learning
for the slow learners.” The session aimed to explore and analyze
that how various strategies can be adapted to establish the productive acquisition of concepts for
each student in the class of multi-potential learners.
Being a teacher of students having a mixed range of mental potentials, it is greatly essential to
be able to identify the slow learners in a classroom. Workshops like this serve to open the gates
for the teachers to incorporate their understanding and strategies to ease the learning process
for the slow learners.
The platform laid down in the workshop is to
empower the teachers for acknowledging the
dynamic caliber of students on individual basis. Such
sessions from time to time support smart teaching
to broaden the lesson layout encompassing effective
learning.

CPD ON “ENHANCING READING SKILLS”
Reader’s workshop allows for classrooms to become a
community of readers with set expectations. The purpose of
conducting a reading workshop is to give student’s
opportunities to read during the school day and to provide
targeted and appropriate instructions. On 9th February , Ms
Deepa Malhotra presented a CPD on the techniques to be
followed in kindergarten to promote fluency and provide time
to nurture the love of reading in our budding readers. It helps
to learn the texts in variety of ways. Reading at young age
builds a community of readers as students receive the
support from their peers and interact with each other to
develop good
literacy skills.
This workshop
showed the powerful way to structure the reading
sessions in classrooms. This guides the students to
choose their reading books as well as provide
significant amount of time for them to read
independently. The session turned out to be very
informative.

SHOW AND TELL
A key part of the curriculum, 'show and tell' is an important part of a child's learning development, as it helps them to organize information and build their confidence. It's also a great way to encourage a child's interest in a particular topic and a chance for children to think outside the box.
With the aim of providing an opportunity for BIS little Munchkins of Grade I and II to develop effective communication skills and to build their confidence, a ‘show and tell’- Inter-House competition was organized on 7th February. They learn and experience public speaking - a skill, a child will use throughout his life. It was a healthy competition where the kids spoke on different topics like my car, Lego
toys, my favourite book, solar system, healthy food, globe, and national flag. They described the objects with a lot of confidence, facial expressions and voice
modulation.
Overall, the show was a spectacular learning experience for
the kids!

“Winning is fun... Sure. But winning is not the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you've done is the point.”
That’s what our Bhavanites have learnt and experienced throughout this academic journey-2018 to 19.
The time of exams can be quite stressful; after all, it is the test of a student’s knowledge that has been accumulated in the past one year. But, apart from determination and tremendous hard work, motivating words can go a long way in ensuring that the students excel in their exam and emerge with flying colours. Dear Students, you have studied hard all through the year, so approach your exams with full confidence. Wishing you all the best for your exams! That’s all for now, meet you in the next academic year with more updates. Until then…… Goodbye (Au revoir). Thanks and Regards, Editorial Team (Students & Staff )
