Power plant, ABBIDJAN, IVORY COAST.

INDUSTRIAL

Under the lead of cpb, this 320 MW power plant was developed as a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) project in an SPV with its partners LAP (Libya Africa Investment Portfolio) and GRD (Gulf Research & Development). The mandate included the financing of 50% of the total $350 m investment. The plant uses a simple cycle technology with dual fuel burning capability (Natural Gas & Diesel No. 2 ASTM). The project comprised the construction and operation for a minimum period of 20 years.

IBM Industrial Park, MAINZ, GERMANY.

This sale and lease back project had the goal to build the biggest waver production facility of IBM in Europe. The 330‘00 sqm property had to be transformed into 2 different zones (production and admistration/commercial) with a total of 130‘000 sqm rent surfa-ce. cpb‘s $90 m development succeded in reaching the ambitious target to massively increase the value of the property by decreasing vacancy by 15% and increasing rent-income by 30%. cpb bought the land, developed the entire production campus, re-organized the property management and sold the project as planned in 2006.

14TH JULY EXPRESS WAY, BAGHDAD, IRAQ.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The task: the construction of a 14 km long 6-lane ex-pressway between „Airport Road“ and „14th-July Road“ with several exits and expressway intersections. For this $850 m infrastructure development, cpb was in charge of the complete project management, design and planning of parts of the new urban freeway system. This included all connections and relocations, over-and underpasses, utilities and traffic control systems.

HAIFA STREET HOUSING PROJECT,

AMANAT AL ASSIMA, BAGHDAD, IRAQ

This $650 m project in the vicinity of the Tigris river included a large residential and commercial development with a total of 2‘000 apartments. cpb was responsible for the preparation of the planning, the design criteria for the whole project and the construction management.

BREIDENBACHER HOF, DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY,

HOSPITALITY

HAIFA STREET HOUSING PROJECT,

AMANAT AL ASSIMA, BAGHDAD, IRAQIVORY COAST.

The Ritz Carlton Hotel „Breidenbacher Hof“ is one of the famous landmarks in the city center Düsseldorf. To bring it to its curent state, cpb bought the 32‘000 sqm property from the owner Pearl of Kuwait and developed it into a 200 rooms 5* hotel. The former non workable management contract was transformed into a new, longterm lease agreement with the Ritz Carlton group. Besides the hotel, the Breidenbacher Hof includes 7.000 sqm of first class shopping and office areas plus a 1.100 sqm luxury boarding house. The development was successfully sold, 3 years after its start.

ZOOFENSTER, BERLIN, GERMANY.

The cpb development for the “Zoofenster”, with its 43‘000 sqm of gross floor area was a unique venture as it was the first high-rise building in the heart of Berlin. cpb bought the land, developed it into a 400 rooms, 4* hotel with an addi-tional 7.000 sqm office space plus a 1.100 sqm first class shopping area. cpb signed the lease agreement with the Hilton group and sold the developement in the same year to a German real estate investment fund.

MULU TOWER, ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA.

The current development of the Mulu Tower hotel & residence in the heart of Addis Ababa is one of cpb‘s most challenging and prestigious hotel projects. The construction of the new landmark tower is the first phase of a large property develope-ment planned on the ground of a former yarn factory. The $180 m Mulu tower project will have a total floor-space of 59‘000 sqm on 36 floors (height 144m). It will feature a 300 room 5* hotel, 60 apartments, 50 suites, a business center, 4 restaurants, a pool, and spa area. The development is currently in its final stage of approval. Construction is planed to start in 2017.
