The Yucatan Peninsula
Yucatan is host to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World: Chichen Itza
Magical land where the past becomes the present
every day, ancient land of eternal stories and wonders.
Yucatan is diverse, it carries its history in its streets,
its houses, its museums, its reunion centers.
It is full of archaeological sites, like the great
pyramid of Kukulkán, in Chichen Itza; declared
as a Human Heritage Site by the UNESCO, where
you will be transported to ancient times to dis-
cover the secrets hiding among its monuments.
MeridaThe White City
MeridaThe White City
City of Poets and whisperers of eternal love;
excellent in the generous hospitality of its people,
with its colonial neighborhoods, tree-lined
stately avenues, world class services, varied
cuisine, night life and modern facilities which
guarantee not only bussiness succes but an
indelible memory of the best possible experience.
The Mayan World envelops this colonial city,
converting it into the mandatory departure point
from which to explore all its riches and secrets.
Founded on the ruins of the mayan city of T’ho,
which means, “face to infinity”, Merida is known
as the “White City” because of her glistening
colonial buildings, which unite history, art,
tradition and culture like few cities in the world.
I zama lMagica l Mex ican Town
Gilded city of sunflower yellow, cradle of the genius prophet Zamna who gave his name and blessing to the people of the Mayab.
Izamal lives to the beat of three centuries
Its pyramids reaching skywards from the backyards of the houses, witness the gran-deur of the Maya. Its Convent and Fort with their shadows and mysteries, its charm derived from the silence of these majestic walls which hold the indeleble mark of the Spaniards.
Its streets, buildings, small plazas, houses and churches, all in a visual rhythm, har-monius in a single color: Yellow. Together they define the present day reality of this Magical Town, where time has stood still, spellbound by the splendor of its history and the pride of its people.
In 1992, Pope John Paul II visted Izamal and offered a mass to remember at the huge atrium in front of the Temple of the Immaculate Conception and St Antonhy of Padua’s ex-Convent.

CozumelHistory
The name of Cozumel comes from the mayan
words Cuzam (swallow) and Lumil (land of),
forming the word Cuzamil (Land of the Swallows).
The first mayan inhabitants settled in Cozumel
about 2,000 years ago. Around 300-900 B.C
Cozumel became one of the most important
sanctuaries in the Yucatan Region.
Religious pilgrimages to the island were commonplace, specially among pregnant women or those trying to
get pregnant, honoring the goddess Ix Chel; deity of moon, fertility and birth.
Spanish explorer Juan de Grijalva landed on the island on May 3rd, 1518; Day of the Holy Cross and called
this land the “Island of the Holy Cross”. Juan de Grijalva ordered chaplain Juan Díaz to celebrate mass.
On May 6th the first catholic mass in México was held, that location was called by the spaniards “San Juan”
(currently known as Las Casitas), to this day the locals celebrate a yearly mass to remember this important event.
Cozumel is the first island in the world to receive the “Island of Peace” designation by the UN. This honor
is given to violence-free communities, where visitors and locals alike can enjoy the calm lifestyle, among
a culture of respect, and pacific and harmonious living, without race, religious or political discrimination.
CozumelF iestas
With a Mexican heart and a Caribbean soul, Cozumel is a
paradise where tradition, flavor and joy come together.
Carnava l Each year, since 1908, Cozumel celebrates
Carnaval, the island’s time-honored pre-Lenten festival.
Cozumel displays the most popular and authentic
Mardi-Grass celebration, providing a more traditional
and family-oriented event.
E l Cedra l A more than 150 year old tradition, the
fair at El Cedral is held every year during the first week of
May to commemorate the Day of the Holy Cross. Both
residents and visitors enjoy the many food stands, games,
dancing and shopping throughout this week-long festi-
val. Particularly of note are the “Head of the Boar” and
“The Ribbons” traditional dances. The event also features
cattle exhibitions, horse races, rides and bullfights.
Sport F ish ing TournamentThe tournament brings together competitors from
Mexico and around the world to fish for Blue Marlin,
White Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna, Barracuda and
other game fish. More than a 100 boats participate in
the event each year. Open to the general public, all are
invited to take part in the tournament, and enjoy the
unique atmosphere.

Independence Day A nationwide festival celebrating Mexican Independence Day. On September 15 local residents
and visitors congregate around the City Hall to participate in the traditional “grito”, or cry for independence.
San M igue l Arcange l Ce lebrat ion One of Cozumel’s most important religious festivals honoring San
Miguel Arcángel, Patron Saint of the island. The celebration begins on September 21, featuring colorful processions. ” On the last
day, fishermen carry an image of San Miguel Arcángel in procession by sea, and surrounded by fishing boats, they throw flowers
into the ocean as they sail along.
Al l Sa ints Day For this Day, special altars are made with flowers, candles and food and are displayed in public places.
All Saints Day is known as the day when the spirits of children are expected to return, family members prepare for their arrival by
leaving sugar skeletons, and treats on altars.
Virgen de Guada lupe Day December 1 to December 12 Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most popular
celebrations in Mexico and Cozumel. Cozumeleños are very devoted to the Virgin of Guadalupe and every year an island-wide
celebration takes place, The celebration kicks off on the first day of December with a pilgrimage lead through the island, to the
Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe. On December 12 several masses are held in the Parish and celebrations with regional foods,
dance and music continue until the performances of the apparitions of the Virgin of Guadalupe on the Tepeyac cliff are held.
I ronman Cozumel Cozumel is proud to
host this prestigious international sporting event
for the next five years. Around 2,000 athletes from
37 different countries, fight to reach their goal of
becoming Iron Men and Women, by swimming 3.8
kilometers, cycling 180 kilometers and running
the final 41.92 kilometers to the finish line.

Cozumel island is 54 km in length from north to south and
14 km wide (east-west); it is surrounded by white sandy
beaches. Calm, crystal clear waters bathe its western
shore, while large waves pummel the eastern side.
Jacques Cousteau exposed to the world the riches that Cozumel’s reefs hold. Placing the island in the
diving enthusiasts radar. Cozumel is a protected National Park, because of its reef system, which is part of
the Mesoamerica Reef System. The MRS is about 1000 km long, with beautifully colored corals and teem-
ing sea life, being the world’s second largest reef but the world’s first and main diving destination for its
calm, warm water and safety, there are no menacing sharks or poisonous jelly fish!!!!
Cozumel has something for everyone, beyond the island’s waterside activities such as diving, snorkeling,
swimming and windsurfing, there are daily tours and excursions such as: Horseback Riding, Eco-Tours,
Swim with Dolphins, Arqueological sites, Stingray Beach Park, Discover Mexico Park, Parasailing,
Submarine, Fishing Charters, and much more.
Cozumel fishing is an unforgettable experience. The crystal-clear blue waters, the brilliant colors of the
reefs below, the palm-lined shores in the distance and the
fertile waters that are teeming with fish, make Cozumel a
sportfishing paradise.

San Gervas io At the biggest archaeological site
on the island you can be part of the Mayan culture and
its mysteries. San Gervasio was a strategic point for the
commercial and political development of its era and also a
sacred Mayan center.
Cedra l Is the oldest Maya structure and still bears a few
traces of paint and stucco applied by the original mayan
artist. These days, there is little archaeological evidence
of El Cedral’s past glory because the conquerors tore
down much of the temple.
Cast i l lo Rea l A Mayan site on the eastern coast, near
the northern tip of the island. The castillo (castle) comprises
a lookout tower, the base of a pyramid, and a temple with
two chambers capped by a false arch. The waters here harbor
several shipwrecks and it’s a fine spot for snorkeling because
there are few visitors to disturb the fish.
Chankaanab Park Just south of the town of San
Miguel, is located within Isla Cozumel’s Reefs National
Marine Park and features the only inland coral reef for-
mation in the world.
The Museum of the I s l and of Cozumel Located in downtown San Miguel, showcases the island’s
history and natural environment; its origins, wildlife migration patterns, reefs, archeology, galleons and pirates.
E l Caraco l Is a well-preserved ancient structure built between AD 1200 and 1400 used by the Mayans to signal the
approach of a hurricane. In essence El Caracol is a whistle propelled by winds funneled through a seashell to warn navi-
gators to take refuge from impending bad weather. The ruins are now part of the Parque Punta Sur Ecological Reserve.
Punta Sur Ecological Park and Natural Reserve is a breath-
taking environment of mangrove jungles, white sand beaches and
reef formations at the south tip of the island. The park extends over
more than 247 acres of land harboring a varied wildlife, including
crocodiles, which visitors can watch from a safe distance in a look-
out tower, 220 species of birds, iguanas, and giant turtles, which
come to shore between June and August to lay their eggs.

The Nicklaus Design Group has successfully balanced the strict requirements of building a first-class golf course
within the delicate ecosystem of the surrounding mangroves, marshlands and tropical rainforest.
The golf course is home to blue crabs, iguanas, crocodiles, raccoons and a multitude of species of birds as well as
other wildlife, which call this habitat home.
Four sets of tees allow golfers of all skill levels to enjoy their round of golf as well as the peace and quiet of the
natural surroundings. Because of its strong commitment to an environmental program, in March 2006 Cozumel
Country Club became the first golf course in Mexico to earn the designation of Certified Audubon Cooperative
Sanctuary from Audubon International.
Narrow fairways surrounded by jungle provide a challenge to the more experienced player, but remain forgiving
enough to allow the begginer to relax and enjoy a day out on the course.

Located only 10 minutes away from the Cozumel International Airport, it’s right at the
end of the exclusive North Hotel Zone of the Island.
With beachfront tracks of around 517.68 feet of pristine beach with a surface area of
6.36 Acres, as well as several plots adjacent to the golf course (with approximately
16,584 feet of fairways front), this land is perfect for the development of a high-end
island community: Residential, Hotels, Shopping and a World-Class Marina.
This is the only site in Cozumel with proper zoning for an integral development
featuring Golf, Marina and Beach front.
Surrounding the astonishing Cozumel Country Club golf course we find an
impressive piece of prime land, ideal for real state and hotel development.
