Coweta Public Library System offers a wide variety of programs and events geared for all ages—infants to adults. Some programs require pre-registration and space may be limited. Please read the program descriptions carefully for specific registration information.

The CPLS program schedule is a tentative listing of programs offered at each location. Patrons are reminded that programs are subject to change. In some cases, programs may be subject to cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances or lack of interest. Drop in anytime between the hours of 10-3pm and work independently on your creation while using a variety of craft and recycled materials. TEENS 2 SENIORSCALLING ALL TEENS! The Central Library is looking for a few good teens to participate in our new initiative called “Teens 2 Seniors”. The goal is pair a teen with an older adult to provide on-on-one help with computer skills and assist with their electronic gadgets. We are virtually working to bridge the high-tech generational gap while provide our teen with volunteer hours and experience. TIE DYE PARTY**Monday, April 4 -- 2pmTie dye is the perfect activity for tons fun! BATTLE OF THE BOOKS**Tuesday, April 5 -- 2pmDueling Readers Spar about Literature all the while trying to make it to the next round. Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program designed to encourage students to read quality literature in the style of television's "Family Feud”. At the end of the day a champion will be named! AGES 6-13. Registration is required.

TEACH ME HOW TO DEWEY**Wednesday, April 6 -- 2pmKids & Teens work as a team to learn the basics of the Dewey decimal system and how to locate things in the library. AGES 8-16. Program is limited to 15 children. Registration is required.

PAINT A SOLAR SYSTEM**Wednesday, April 6 -- 2pmKids & Teens will first have to research the solar system. Once they understand order of the system they will begin to spray paint the solar system. AGES 8-16. Program is limited to 15 children. Registration is required.

DUAL ADVANTAGE GED**Saturdays -- 12pmJanuary 25, February 29March 28, April 25Grantville Branch Library is offering Dual Advantage GED introductory classes once a month on Saturdays for people wishing to attain their general education diploma. The classes will introduce participants to online studying and hold in person classes at the Grantville Branch Library. There will be hands on activities to inspire critical thinking and problem solving skills. Participants will be guided in the process of setting up a Gmail account, khan academy account, and navigating My GED Testing Service among other suggestions for improving the quality of their studying and preparation for the exam. The advantage of online and in person classes allows students the freedom to study in their own time and utilize existing resources through the public library to assist them in achieving their goals.

This shorter story time will give children and their parents or caregivers, an introduction to stories and activities that encourage children along a lifelong path of reading and learning. These 45 minute programs are designed to promote language and listening skills, expand their imagination and self-image and arouse their curiosity about the world around them. READER'S THEATER STORYTELLING**Thursday, February 11, 18, 25 -- 4:30pm(Ages 6-11) Master the art of telling stories with expression! Children ages 6-11 years are invited to take part in a 3 week workshop. Build your reading skills in a fun way as you read a script and learn to act out the characters. Increase your confidence and vocabulary as we cover new words from the script of the story. Each week we will also do a craft in correlation with the story. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

AMERICAN GIRL CREATIONS**Thursday, March 10 -- 4:30pm(Ages 6-11) We will discuss the American Girl book “Jesse” and why you enjoyed the story. Be sure to bring your favorite doll along and show her off. Local artist Katherine Kicklighter will guide you, as you paint a beautiful picture. Join us for a lovely afternoon at the Library. If so, please join us at the Senoia Library for BEAD UPCYCLE. We will swap beads and upcycle them into beautiful new beaded pieces of jewelry that you will love to show off or give as a special gift!
