It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing a few weeks ago of fellow golfer and friend, Dewald van Staden. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends in this difficult time. COVID protocals Last week we reported that we will be returning to things as they were prior to the lockdown, both on the course and in the clubhouse. We however need to clarify that since we are no where close to being out of the woods, from a COVID-19 perspective, it is entirely up to each individual to decide if they want to make use of the rakes in the bunker or remove the flag from the hole. However, please note that the local rule pertaining to placing in the bunker is no longer in play and you will need to play the ball as it lies. It is therefore extremely important that you ensure to smooth the bunker over with your shoe or club if you choose not to use the rake. With regards to score cards, as per last week and the article below, you need to ensure that the score card is completed correctly. Here again some might not be comfortable with exchanging or signing cards and as per the COVID protocols this will not be enforced until we get back to level 0. However, please note that should you not want to swop cards, the marker will need to complete the card for the player/s (with all the correct handicap information etc.) and as a bare minimum the card must be signed by the marker. The onus is however still on the player to cast an eye over the card and ensure that all information was completed correctly and verify the scores, as well as ensure that the marker has signed the card. We also encourage all to carry sanitiser with them while out on the course.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends in this difficult time.

COVID protocals

Last week we reported that we will be returning to things as they were prior to the lockdown, both on the course and in the clubhouse. Here again some might not be comfortable with exchanging or signing cards and as per the COVID protocols this will not be enforced until we get back to level “0”. However, please note that should you not want to swop cards, the marker will need to complete the card for the player/s (with all the correct handicap information etc.) and as a bare minimum the card must be signed by the

marker. The onus is however still on the player to cast an eye over the

card and ensure that all information was completed correctly and

verify the scores, as well as ensure that the marker has signed the

card.

We also encourage all to carry sanitiser with them while out on the

course.

Score Cards

As previously mentioned we continue to experiencing many issues with members and guests not completing score cards correctly. Below are examples of some of these cards. Members need to take note that any score card that is not filled in correctly will lead to disqualification from club competitions.

Members are reminded that there are free golf lessons for juniors on a Tuesday between 14:30 and 15:30.

Please drop off any equipment you would like to donate at the pro shop.

Please contact: Thys Potgieter (Resident PGA Professional) on (021) 903-0300 for bookings
