The introduction of a School Messaging Service which should improve our communication with you. Dear Parent/Guardian Please find enclosed details of 3 new initiatives being implemented in the Academy. 1. The introduction of a School Messaging Service which should improve our communication with you.

This will not replace key messages being sent by letter, but will offer parents a quicker and more convenient method for receiving information.

NB We have yet to link our SMS to our electronic absence recording, therefore text messages regarding absences will follow at a later date.

2. Our new breakfast club will give pupils the opportunity to get a bite to eat before they start their

lessons. We are running this on a trial basis, however I do think that when we move to a 33 period week next session, I would like to see an established breakfast club in the school.

3. Were you taught to do “sums” the same way as your children? Our numeracy booklet for parents

provides guidance to you on the current methods being used in the Academy.

Yours sincerely Allan Rattray Head Teacher
