4.DATAANALYSISProvideasummaryanalysisofyourCSAP,benchmarkassessmentsandanyotherdata.Approximately52%ofstudentscanreadongradelevelwhentheyenrollatAXL.OfthestudentswhohaveattendedAXLfortwoconsecutiveyears,84%readonorabovegradelevel,asmeasuredbyDRA2.Ofthose84%,70%readabovegradelevel,and14%areongradelevel.AXLhasmadesignificantgainsonallthreeperformanceindicatorsmeasuredbyCDE’sSchoolPerformanceFrameworkforanelementaryschool:academicachievement,academiclongitudinalgrowth,andacademicgaps,butweareparticularlyproudofourgrowthinReadingandourprogressreducingtheachievementgapsplaguingstudentsofcolor,low‐incomestudents,studentslearningEnglish,andstudentswithspecialneeds.WehaveseentremendousgrowthinReadingamongstudentswhosefamiliesqualifyforfreelunch–thosestudentsgrew11%inReadinginone‐year’stime.36%ofstudentswithspecificlearningdisabilitiesscoredProficientorAdvancedonCSAPReadingin2009‐10,upfrom0%whentheyarrivedatAXL.WhileHispanicstudentsstillperformwellbelowtheirWhitecrewmates,therewasa36%increaseinthenumberofstudentsreadingatorabovegradelevelinthispastyearatAXL.Therewasan18%increaseinthenumberofboysreadingatorabovegradelevel.Therewasa15%increaseinthenumberofstudentslearningEnglishwhocanreadproficientlyoradvancedduringthesameyear. Inthefirstsixmonthsofthisyear,we’veseena38%reductioninthenumberofscholarswhoareperformingbelowgradelevelintheclassroomswherewehaveimplementedAXL’saggressiveRTIprotocolswithfidelity.WhilethedistrictcontrolledAXL’sspecialeducationteachersandcurriculum,lessthan10%ofstudentswithIEPsmettheirannualgoals,twoyearsinarow.Thisyear,sinceAXLnowhiresitsownspecialedteacherandpushesinservicesalignedwithourcurriculum,62%ofourstudentswithIEPshavealreadymetorexceededtheirannualgoals–anditisonlyMarch.Students’goalsrequireatleast1.5yearsofgrowthinthestudent’sidentifiedareaofdisability.
