The film ‘Escape from School’ won the best script award at today’s event. Director James and Assistant Director Monique accepted the award and gave a short speech thanking 4/5/6 for their acting help. Stop Work Meeting On Tuesday 3 rd December the NSW Teachers Federation has called a stop work meeting to discuss the proposed new salaries and conditions award from 9am to 11am. Normal classes will not begin until after recess, however supervision for all students will be provided during normal school hours in the morning.

Assembly At our assembly on Friday many students received awards. Congratulations to Writers of the Fortnight Jaylah and Geogia as well as Merit Card recipients: Lincoln, Chloe, Charlotte, Kirsten, Davey, James, Charni, Robbie, Caitlin, Laura, Daniel and Kasey. Our final assembly next Friday (6th December) will be a special one with Teacher, Bronze, Silver, Gold (maybe even a diamond) awards, as well as year five speeches for School Captain in 2014. Students will vote after lunch on this day and the result will be announced at our Presentation Day Ceremony at 9:30am on Tuesday 10th December. Report cards will also be sent home on this day as well. 100 Nights Home Reading Congratulations Kiki for reaching 100 nights’ reading! She has chosen a reward book to continue reading. Well done! Annual School Report Survey Yes, I have finally finished the survey. One will be sent home to each family. Please respond, so that we can use the information in our Annual School Report for 2013 and look for possible improvements for our school in 2014.

Year Six Activities This week year six students began fund raising activities

towards a year six gift to the school. Students enjoyed the opportunity to throw a wet sponge at our seniors. I’m sure

the seniors also enjoyed getting wet during the warm afternoon.

It will be a busy time for our year six students in their last

few weeks at primary school. Busy…but fun! Enjoy! Next Friday, 6th December the cake will be supplied by the Williams family. We thank the parents for their support of this P&C fundraiser. Christmas Carols Don’t forget, our Christmas Carols evening is set for Monday 16th December in the last week of school. It will be held indoors and will include carols and a Navitity Play by our K-2 students. More details will be printed in coming newsletters. End of Term The last day of term for 2013 is Wednesday 18th December ans school will resume for students on 29th January 2014. New kindergarten students will start at a later time, following Best Start Assessments. Next week – the last month of the year begins. My how time is rushing by. The count down to Christmas will begin in earnest soon.
