Within in
chasing
pavements you
can see this
is a literal
component as
they are
chasingpavements.
This is a
method we used
in our music
video as we
illustratedthat Mackenzie
needed a
minute on his
own.

Audience as a voyeur
In our music video we had shots
where Mackenzie was being
followed and this was caught onCCTV. This is therefore making
the audience a voyeur as they
shouldnt really be watching it
but are.
The audience is also beinga voyeur in Lady Gagas
video telephone as they
watching her leave prison.
This is a element that
engages the audience and
makes them want to watchmore.

Star image- Mackenzie
Throughout the piece you know
Mackenzie is the star as he is
established right at the
beginning with the first fewshots of him. We have
developed this component just
like the Eminem has in not
afraid.
Eminems video also
used the idea of
Mackenzie facing the
back, this is making
the audienceunderstand that he
is the main
attraction and this
effect allows the
audience to have
sympathy for him.

Intertextual- the courteeners you overdid it doll
Here you can see The Courteeners you overdid it doll and our
music video. As you can see we have taken similar shots of
Mackenzie in our music video. The three performance shots aresimilar in shot, angle and distance, this is something we
subconsciously did, but yet was a good choice in camera angles.
This is developing the component of intertextual. The genre our
music video is under is indie music, we could of possible
challenged the shots, by having Mackenzie standing still in a
busy environment which is making the audience think more as wellas adding a effect.

Genre Identify- Narrative
As you can see Lily Allens version of Alfie is
narrating her relationship with her younger
brother Alfie.Camera-mid shots, close ups, static, long
shot
Editing-The editing consists of jump cuts, un
Mise-en-scene-Within the video you can see
colourful clothing and 2 people doing day today duties. This creates a homey atmosphere
which links back to narrative.
Sound- The sound is Lily Allen singing Alfie. It
is therefore diegetic sound, and the lyrics is
very specific which matches the mise-en-
scene.
All these aspects of media production help
portray narrative as it is varied, dynamic and
comical which is Lily Allens style of music.

Narrative-The Courteeners
Here is our narration of
our music video. We tookthe idea of Mackenzie
needing a minute on
his own so he had
people following him as
he knew he couldnt get
that.
Camera-long shots, midshots, close ups
Editing-rewinding
(speed), lighting,
brightness and contrast.
Mise-en-scene-walking in
a park, dark, errie,
normal clothing
Sound-so I cross my
heart song, diegetic
sound
All these pictures,
tell the story of
Mackenzie needing a
minute on his own.
However this wasnt as
clear as it could have
been, so this is
something we would
need to make a lot
clearer just like Lily
Allen did in her music
video.

Performance-
With Jessie Js song Do it like a dude, it is all
performance based .
Camera: the camera is mid-shot to extreme close
ups, and at a variety of different angles,
Mise-en-scene: Jessie J is dressed in urban clothes,
with quite a current feel to it. The lighting is dark with
just a white/daylight light as well.
Editing: the editing is shaky/steady cam, or smooth.
The angles are at a diagonal and are usually high or
low and never flat.
Sound: It is just Jessie J singing Do it like a Dude to
diegetic sound.

Our music video is half performance and half
narrative. Here are the shots of Mackenzie with
performance aspects.
Camera: The camera is at flat angle on all the
performance shots. They are also close-ups of
Mackenzie as well as a mid shot.
Mise-en-scene: The mise-en-scene is dark purple
colours to create a moody feel. Mackenzie is
wearing normal clothing, which are also dark.
Sound: The sound is diegetic as we made sure
Mackenzie could hear it during filming this was to
ensure good lip syncing.
Editing: The editing varies, we included fades
from colour to and from black and white, opposite
colours, dimness in tone. We also had to change
the brightness and contrast.
With both our video and Jessie Js video, there is
similarities. We both use close ups during the
performance part of the video, with using simple
angles and similar use of simple lighting. Both videos
are appropriate to their genre type.
