Included in this curriculum is a the introduction of theory of operation, including the five blocks of a generic laser printer and the six steps of the laser printing process. This is followed by control panel configuration, firmware update instructions, disassembly, reassembly and extensive troubleshooting. Student Learning Goals: To understand color laser printer theory. To perform and understand control panel operations, including service modes, test pages, firmware updates, and reset procedures. To disassemble each printer to model sub assemblies as directed by the instructor using service manuals and other documents provided on flash drives. To reassemble each printer as instructed via the service manual, and at times, assisted by the instructor using alternative methods, easing reassembly. To understand and properly correct error codes, print defects, noise related issues, “common” printer issues, and end user related complaints and concerns. Requirements: A laptop, notebook, netbook or any portable device with one or more USB ports for viewing a USB flash drive. A basic understanding of electro mechanical devices. The ability to understand basic instructions and follow any illustrations provided.

Days 3-5 will emulate the above schedule

Examinations: There is no exam post training. Each student will be verbally quizzed during the training modules by the instructor, only to reinforce the concepts presented during each module. All students are issued ProTech certifications of completion. Evaluations: Each student is issued a course survey form. These forms are filled out anonymously and are used for the instructor to evaluate performance.
