Course Description:
This course prepare the student to be able to provide appropriate care to patients suffering from common acute
disorders using nursing process and theories. Moreover, the student will be able to recognize the management of
acute situations, patients’ needs during acute conditions and monitor their conditions during the process of
provision of care. For acute conditions, the student needs to be aware of dimensions of acute care of patients
based on nursing models, and also patient education.
Main learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Define the meaning of acute condition.
Describe the nurses’ role in detection from prevention to rehabilitation in acute care condition.
Define and explain the specific role of nurses in prevention from and provision of care to patients in acute
situations
