The Virtual Training Academy Course Guide for FDP100 New Faculty Training Program

FDP100 Course Requirements: Please follow these steps to complete your course and obtain your certificate of completion:

Step 3: Complete all Weekly Activities o Participants are required to have a weekly meeting with their on campus supervisor o Other activities including a classroom observation and a weekly reflection journal are

required

Step 3: Complete Discussion Board requirements o For each DB forum, post an original response to the Facilitator and to at least one peer

Step 4: Complete the Course Exam. You must pass with at least 80%. Once you have completed all requirements, your Certificate of Completion will be emailed to you within one week. If you do not receive your certificate, please contact VirtualAcademy@edaff.com for assistance. How to Navigate Your Course:

When you click on your course hyperlink you first see ‘Announcements’. Make sure to read these every

time you log in as this is how your Facilitator shares important information with you. You will also see a

copy of each Announcement delivered to your email.

To get started, click on ‘Week 1’ in the left hand navigation pane. Here you will find all of the content

and instructions needed to complete your first week of training.

To open your Lesson, click on the hyperlink underneath ‘Lesson 1’.

Your browser will open a new tab with the Lesson. Navigate by clicking the blue ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’

buttons at the bottom of each screen. Once you click ‘Exit’ on the last slide, the tab will close bringing

you back to Blackboard.

Navigate to your Week 1 Discussion Board question by clicking on the hyperlink below ‘Discussion

Board’ or clicking the Discussion Board link in the left hand navigation pane.

On the Discussion Board you’ll find questions to supplement your training and activities for Weeks 1-6. To respond to your Week 1 Question, click on the Week 1 link.

If you are the First person to respond, click ‘Create Thread’. If a Thread has already been created, you

may click on the link underneath the ‘Thread’ column.

Once the thread opens, click ‘Reply’.

Type your response into the text box and click ‘Submit’.

In addition to reviewing the Lesson and Discussion Board, there are Activities within each week for you

to complete individually and/or with your Supervisor on campus.

Once you have reviewed all content for Weeks 1-6, click on ‘Course Exam’ in the left hand navigation

pane. To get started, click on the hyperlink for the exam.

After you have completed the Exam, please complete the anonymous feedback survey by clicking

‘Course Feedback’ in the left hand navigation pane. Then, click on the Course Feedback link to open the

survey. We truly value your feedback!

Once you have completed all requirements, your Certificate of Completion will be emailed to you within one week. If you do not receive your certificate, please contact VirtualAcademy@edaff.com for assistance.
