Participant mix:This course is designed for government officials designated for high-level positions and business executives with close interactions with governments and who wish to engage more effectively with thepublic sector.

Leadership: • Dealing with uncertainty, learning from failures and managing complexity• Challenges of leadership in international and multicultural settings• Strategy development for foreign and security policy and crisis response

Decision-making:• Foreign and security policy decision- making in the U.S., Russia, China and the MENA region• Decision-making in crisis situations• Strategic decision-making• Use of history for decision-making• Crisis management simulation

• Introduction (1 day): in Geneva or via teleconference

• Pre-residency (4 weeks): pre-course study and self-assessment

• Intensive residency period (2 weeks): real-life case studies, interactive seminars, a crisis simulation, individual and group challenges and informal interactions
