Parentz@Work’s parenting classes are designed for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Courses include Alternatives to Cor-poral Punishment, Setting Limits/Consequences, and Parenting Styles. Classes are court approved and parents receive a certificate upon completion.

The Center offers a computer for public use, copies, and prints to help you get the documents you need to complete your application. When completed, we can FAX your application to CAP for processing.

Métodos De Práctica: servicios de bienestar,

crecimiento y desarrollo, compromiso cívico, y

construcción de la comunidad. Organizaciones sin

fines de lucro vienen al Centro para dar servicios.

Servicios de Bienestar

Apoyo familiar con visitas a domicilio; acceso a

recursos de emergencia de la vida cotidiana: co-

mida, ropa, alojamiento; gestión de casos: desa-

rrollo familiar, planificación, orientación, mento-

ría; consejería; seguridad: acceso a asientos de

carros para niños, acceso a cascos de bicicletas;

proyecciones de desarrollo; respuesta diferencial;

visitas y supervisión del bienestar de los niños;

soporte en encontrar recursos y artículos de pri-

mera necesidad.

Crecimiento y Desarrollo

Grupos de interacción padre/hijo; educación y

liderazgo de los padres; los enlaces de prepara-

ción escolar; actividades/clases para el desarrollo

juvenil; clases para una vida saludable: ejercicio,

control del enojo, alivio del estrés; clases de

computación; preparación de impuestos; talleres

de inmigración; Cafés para Padres (temas de

actualidad); desarrollo económico familiar; grupos

de apoyo: cuidadores de parentesco infantil,

nuevos padres, grupos de los 12 pasos.

Compromiso Cívico

Registro del votante; red de Promotores; redes de

vecindarios; abogacía y entrenamiento de

defensoría (individual y social); capacitación en

liderazgo comunitario; talleres de prevención

sobre de la violencia; coordinadores de recursos

comunitarios; celebraciones comunitarias;

actividades de desarrollo juveniles; oportunidades

del voluntariado comunitario.

Construcción de la Comunidad
