Cut ListI used scrap 2x4s but to make the building process even easier I recommend buying a 1"x8" board. You will be able to get one rack from a single board.

Or, you can use a single 6' 2x4 to also get one rack. If you use a 2x4 you will need to resaw it in half first.

Use a speed square and pencil to line out the marks for the slits where the pieces will be joined together. Tape all four blue boards together so the cuts will be identical. Note: I planed my boards down to 1/2" so I made my slits 1/2". Adjust this measurement to match the exact thickness of the wood you are using.

Make the BodyBefore moving forward, stain all your boards with your choice of finish. Once dry, join all four blue boards together to make up the body of the rack. They should be a snug fit, use a mallet if needed. You can use wood glue on these connections as well. I didn't since my boards fit so tightly

Make the BodyNow take the end pieces and nail them in place using 1 1/4" brad nails. Turn the unit on it's side like below to make it easier.

And that's it! Load it down with some wine or wrap it up and give it away as a gift. Be sure to visit my website at Wilkerdos.com for other projects. Be safe!
