Wednesday Community Meal The meal for Wednesday, January 31 st will be cream of mushroom chicken, rice pilaf, green bean, salad, and dessert. The Quilters and spouses are scheduled to help on 1/31. The Trinity Choir is scheduled on February 7. All are welcome to this free-will offering meal! Souper’ Bowl Sunday CTKB Youth are excited to be heading to Houston for the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering! Please help support sending the youth and their chaperones on this amazing faith- filled experience by participating in the ‘souper’ bowl fundraiser. $5 for a 12oz. container of soup and 1 cookie - $10 for a 24oz container of soup and 2 cookies: Wild Rice Soup - Rich in flavor and comfort, this classic recipe uses traditional MN wild rice, ham and almonds. Contains gluten, dairy, tree nuts. Chicken Vegetable Soup -This broth-based soup is loaded with vegetables that will remind you of your summer garden. Does not contain gluten, dairy, tree nuts. Sign-up forms available in the commons or the office. Please fill one out by January 31 st ! Soups and cookies will be made from scratch by the youth and will be available in to-go containers on Feb 4 th . Pre-order to ensure availability of your preferred soup. Payment due upon pickup. January Gift of Love – Global Health MinistriesGlobal Health Ministries (GHM) "Helping The Hands That Heal", was founded in 1987 by returning Medical Missionaries in consultation with American Lutheran Church Mission Staff. Since then it has developed a nationwide network of supporters for Lutheran Hospitals and Health Care programs in more than 30 countries. GHM carries out its mission through the gathering and shipping of requested medical supplies and equipment to these partners. Project grants are also made. In 2014 GHM increased its emphasis of working to improve sustainability and effectiveness in management. CTK continues to support GHM through the Gift of Love and the service of volunteers.

Gather, Eat, ActThe Bloomington City Council will be meeting on Monday, January 29, to review important solutions that pertains to quality, accessible rental housing in Bloomington. Join us to learn how you can be involved, thank the city of Bloomington for being a leader among suburban communities, and show them support for taking steps to preserve affordable housing and protect tenant from displacement! 5:00pm Open House with light meal – 6:00p City Council Work Session

February JOY event will feature Michael Opitz. Tues. Feb. 13th. The potluck starts at noon and the program will follow. Be ready to tap your toes and feel like dancing. This musician comes well recommended, you will not be disappoint-ed. Bring a friend, it would be a lovely valentine gift. Everyone is invited. Sign-up in the commons.

Parents’ Time Out - Friday, Feb. 9th Parents take a time out and leave your kids with us – whether you want to go on a date, catch up with a friend, or clean out a closet. CTK is offering childcare for a Parent Time Out on Friday, Feb. 9 from 5-9 pm (dinner provided). Kids must be signed up by February 8. We are in need of volunteers, teenagers on up to help with this event. Please contact Cory Jones or Lynn Lenort if you have questions. 

Help pack meals at Feed My Starving ChildrenSaturday, March 3, 11:30am-1:30pm

Space for 25 volunteers has been reserved. Children age 5+ and youth (chaperone requirements)are welcome. This is a great family activity – meaningful, and fun! Besides packing there are sit-down jobs also. Sign up at the Library counter. If you have any questions, please talk with Roger or Verla Olson.

VEAP NewsPlease remember VEAP when you are grocery shopping for food, soap or sanitary supplies. Or grab an envelope from the pew and throw in a couple of bucks. VEAP is able to feed someone for a whole week for just $1.50. Thank you for your consideration.
