Actual construction will begin on Monday, April 24, 2017. All remaining underground infrastructure on Dracup Avenue owned by the City was replaced in 2016, ensuring roadway improvements will be constructed above completely new and reliable underground servicing. While Dracup Ave. reconstruction has been a lengthy process, it will reduce disruption to businesses in this area for many years into the future. The new concrete roadway will be installed beginning around May 8th, and this project is expected to be completed by June 3, 2017, weather permitting. Signage will be posted prior to any closures/detours. The City apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates the patience of businesses and surrounding residents over the duration of these projects. Details and updates throughout the construction season will be posted on www.yorkton.ca/construction. Should you have any questions, please call the Public Works Department at 306-786-1760. Outdoor Fire Pits Outdoor fire pits must have a permit. Permit can be purchased at Yorkton Fire Department by cash or cheque, Mon-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm at a cost of $20.00. Request for Financing Proposals Sanitary Landfill Job Opportunities Public Notice The City of Yorkton is requesting proposals from qualified financial institutions to provide the City of Yorkton with financing options to meet our borrowing requirements for the re-construction and underground utility replacement on Dracup Avenue from Broadway Street to York Road. The City intends to borrow $6,200,000 over 10 years. The Province of Saskatchewan through the Saskatchewan Municipal Board has authorized debt of $42,000,000 for the City of Yorkton. Outside debt is $13,756,814 as of December 31, 2016. The City’s financials justify the amount of debt required and Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2015 are available on the website at: www.yorkton.ca/dept/finance/financialstatements.asp The City of Yorkton’s annual operating budget is approximately $36,500,000 with tax revenues in excess of $20,000,000. For comparison purposes, please quote rates as of April 24, 2017 and include the base rate plus spread/margins. Detailed proposals must include the following information: a) Fixed interest rate for 5 years with renewable terms b) Fixed interest rate for 10 years renewable thereafter c) Indicate annualized interest rate and specify compounding factor (ie. Construction on Dracup Ave. South will resume with road closures beginning Friday, April 21, 2017 to prepare the site. Actual construction will begin on Monday, April 24, 2017. All remaining underground infrastructure on Dracup Avenue owned by the City was replaced in 2016, ensuring roadway improvements will be constructed above completely new and reliable underground servicing. Spring Street Sweeping will begin April 17, 2017. We will be starting in Section 1.
