CosmetologyThe Cosmetology Program provides the training required to become a Pennsylvania State Licensed Cosmetologist. Students successfully completing this course are prepared to take the state board exam for licensure. With this certification, they are immediately eligible to gain employment as a professional cosmetologist without any further training.

The Cosmetology Program at Jeff Tech is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as a licensed cosmetologist with the ability to perform as the following:

• Nail Technician• Natural Hair Braider• Esthetician• Makeup Artist• Skin Care Technician• Beauty Sales Consultant• Hair Coloring Technician• Hairstylist• Salon Manager• Salon Owner

The cosmetology curriculum provides the required 1,250 hours of specialized training in the care and treatment of the hair, skin, and nails to obtain a cosmetology license. This program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology.

Curriculum areas include, haircutting, hairstyling, braiding, braid extensions, wigs, hair additions, perming, chemical hair relaxing, haircoloring, hair lightening, special effects haircoloring, hair removal, facials, facial makeup, massage, manicuring, pedicuring, artificial nail enhancements, skin structure and growth, skin disorders and diseases, nail structure and growth, properties of the hair and

scalp, principles of design, scalp care, shampooing, and conditioning, professional ethics, infection control, chemistry, electricity, anatomy, salon business and salon management.
