INSTRUMENTS NEEDED
Various machines can be used. The traditional tattoo machine and the pen machine are examples of equipment. These machines average 400 needle punctures per minute.

Needle groups vary from one needle to groups of fourteen. Needle selection is determined by skin texture, condition, age of skin, and area of implantation.

FULL LIP COLOR
After effective anesthesia has been administered the outline drawn on and approved by the patient is now implanted with the selected color. The exactness of the implantation is imperative for the perfect lip line.

APPLYING COLOR TO THE LIP
• Applying color to remaining skin tissue is the next step.
• The full lip color takes 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
• Six weeks later the second application of color is applied. Color adjustments are also addressed at this visit.

FINISHED FULL LIP COLOR
• After the entire lip is saturated with pigment (color), the excess color is cleaned from the skin.
• Photographs are taken and placed in the patient’s file along with documentation of the procedure.
• Post procedure care instructions are reviewed with the patient.

HAZARDOUS MEDICAL WASTE
• Used needles and plastic tubes are properly disposed of after one use.
