Dear Customers, Business Partners and Friends,

We live in exciting times. Innovation and technology are bringing new waves of sophisticated demands. Whilst complexity is growing, development times are getting shorter. The same people and equipment need to be adaptable to produce more variety. Change must be fast and furious.

At Weng Meng Industries, we celebrate and embrace change. We listen to better understand needs. We respond by finding new ways of doing things better together. And we lead by pioneering innovation.

Yet, there are some things that we will not change. These are our core values of honesty and integrity, respect and teamwork, and our commitment to social and environmental sustainability. We have earned our reputation of being true to our word. Our customers tell us it is our approach and CAN-DO! culture that sets us apart.

Our achievements thus far have been great. But this is not time to rest. To stay ahead we will continuously adjust to changing environments, and convert change into opportunities for bigger and better growth.

Who We Are

We pride ourselves on being a family business that will grow through the generations. Our business is part of who we are. Our heart is in every job we deliver.

Weng Meng Industries has been in the market since 1979. From our humble beginnings as a manufacturer of assorted timber joinery products such as wooden cable reels, wooden pallets, and office furniture and fittings, we have grown to become the largest manufacturer and supplier of wooden and steel cable reels in the region.

In the early 1980s, recognizing market potential, we diversified into the production of timber doors. Our dedication to creating high quality, finely crafted doors has helped us grow to become one of the most comprehensive total door solutions provider globally. We have manufactured and installed millions of doorsets, from generic to bespoke, working hard to deliver products that are highly functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Our quest for growth is never ending. We are always in search for the next project and/or business opportunity. Whilst we invest in strengthening existing portfolios, we also keep our ears to the ground and remain ready to act. It is through continuous business improvement and creation that we are able to thrive in the global market.

Milestones

27 Feb 1979

Weng Meng Industries established. Manufacture pallets, timber joinery products and wooden reels. Factory size: 2.6 acres (11,000m2).

1986

Added PVC laminate and timber flush doors to door product range.

1985

Jurusanwa Enterprise established. Manufacture fire resistance doors under registered brand “Sandor”. Focus on Malaysia market.

1987

Started manufacturing Steel Cable Reel.

1996

Expanded Engineered Joinery Door business to overseas markets.

1997

Obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification for Steel and Wooden Cable Reels, Wooden Pallets, Wooden Doors, Door Frames, Windows and Window Frames.

1991

Relocated to bigger factory: 6.3 acres (25,000m2).

Expanded 2nd door manufacturing plant; dedicated to export market. Factory size: 5.0 acres (20,000m2).

2004

Obtained FSC Chain of Custody Certification for Engineered Doors & Frames.

2003

Expanded 3rd manufacturing plant; dedicated to export market. Factory size: 2.6 acres (11,000m2).

2006

Consolidated production in new plant. Factory size: 20 acres (81,000m2). Group sales: RM79 million.

2010

Sales exceeded RM100 million milestone. Annual Turnover: RM103 million.

2015

Leading player in the door and reel industries in Southeast Asia. Annual Turnover: RM167 million.

2007

Upgraded ISO certification to ISO 9001:2008. Annual Turnover: RM85 million.

2014

Obtained PEFC Chain of Custody certification. Annual Turnover: RM142 million.

Our CAN DO! values are inspired by the spirit of our founder, Mr. Yap Lin Chai. It represents Credibility, Adaptability, Nurturing, Diversity and Openness and provide the foundation for how we behave, do business and make decisions. Our values give us strength to go the extra mile and provide guidance in challenging times.

We are the leading wooden and steel reels manufacturer in Southeast Asia. We pioneered the cable reel industry in Malaysia and remain the largest supplier for the local cable and wire sectors.

State-Of-The-Art Manufacturing Facility

Our doors and cable reels are produced in a 20-acre manufacturing and research and development facility in Kuala Langat, Malaysia. We invest heavily in machinery and automation in order to improve on our consistency, efficiency and proficiency. Our factory sits on a 40-acre land, which leaves plenty of room for future expansion.

Quality from Start to Finish

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. We have dedicated teams committed to delivering reliability and service to customers from conception to completion. Every member of our team undergoes intensive and ongoing training to ensure that they are kept up-to-date with our latest products and specifications. We Care About The EnvironmentAs a company that relies on wood and natural resources, we are conscious that the Planet is our biggest partner. We are committed to environmentally sustainable practices in all aspects of our business. We wish to make the right choices to protect the future.

We support sustainable forestry practices by purchasing timber from companies that have been certified and comply with environmental legislations set out by national and international regulators. We ensure that our doors and cable reels come from forests that are being regenerated, where biodiversity is maintained for future generations.

We minimise our environmental footprint by introducing efficiency in our manufacturing and distribution processes. We ensure that we are utilizing energy to its maximum efficiency. We work to reduce overall waste in the production process, whilst looking at opportunities to re-use and recycle by-products and waste material.

On the ground and out in the field we manage all projects sustainably, with regular independent audits confirming the quality of our approach. We support third-party certification and green building programmes. Forestry certification helps identify wood supplies that originate in responsibly managed forests. We undertook the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certification in 2004 and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certification in 2014.
