Committed to the environmentWE PROTECT THE AMAZON RAINFOREST USING CARBON CREDITS

Our passengers have the chance to offset their carbon footprint during their South American vacation by purchasing carbon credits, the funds of which will contribute to preserving national parks in the Amazon Rainforest, which some describe as being the “lung of the Earth”.

Condor Travel has acquired carbon credits for the purpose of preserving amazonian forests in Peru. The proceeds from the sale of these credits will be funneled to a sustainable tourism project in the Tambopata region. One credit is equivalent to one ton of CO² and will contribute to preserving 25 m² of Amazonian forests.

Our customers can purchase the credits for their passengers or include them in their green travel programs as added value.

Another way we are showing our commitment to environmental sustainability is with Rainforest Alliance verification, which we have had since 2012.

Committed to communitiesWe are well aware of our duty to support development in the communities where we operate, and, with that in mind, we created the Wings Association in 2007. Wings is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable tourism.

The first project undertaken by Wings was developed in the Cusco village of Mullaka’s Misminay, located an hour and fifteen minutes from the city of Cusco. Thanks to this project, we have enhanced the education and thewell-being of community members and have engaged them directly in tourism.

Condor Travel passengers can share in the daily activities of the community members, such as doing farm chores, helping out with the animals, knitting and weaving, learning about traditional healing with medicinal plants, etc.

They may also spend the night in the specially outfitted homes with families that will teach them some rudimentary quechua and some customary dishes.

Share in the everyday life of an Andean CommunityCondor Travel is extending an invitation to travelers to stray from the well beaten track and experience something different, something real, in all the countries where the company operates.

In Peru, passengers have the chance to visit the community of Misminay, located 1 hour and 15 minutes from Cusco, where they can interact with the villagers, sharing in their daily activities, such as plowing, making adobe bricks, knitting and weaving, taking part in andean rites, and learning to cook and to speak rudimentary quechua. This trip will lead to authentic cultural exchange and leave a lasting memory.
