The history of the Perdomo family's cigar making tradition recounts three generations of Cuban cigar artisans and their quest for survival,
freedom and their fervent dream of producing the finest cigars in the world. The communist revolution of 1959 and the considerable struggles
that followed would not deter them from their tenacious path of defiance and persistence. Enduring years of political strife, hardship and brutal
oppression - culminating with the eventual discovery of freedom and survival in a new world - is how the seeds of the Perdomo cigar tradition
have taken root and flourished. Today, led by third generation cigar maker Nick Perdomo, Jr., Tabacalera Perdomo, S.A. has gained its rightful
place as one of the most successfully innovative and fiercely passionate manufacturers of premium cigars in the world.
exacqVision video management software (VMS) was installed to help Perdomo monitor nine buildings and several outdoor areas of interest
throughout the compound. Axis cameras are strategically placed to capture production operations and any incidents that may occur.
exacqVision was installed on an industry standard server with video recording to an iSCSI disk array. exacqVision manages 49 IP cameras to
provide Perdomo’s management with instant and recorded views of every step of the cigar manufacturing process throughout the compound.
Cameras in the production or cigar rolling and packaging building provide an effective method to monitor operational efficiency. The
exacqVision client software is installed on PC’s and portable devices at Perdomo’s headquarters in Miami Lakes, FL and on two (2) dedicated PC
monitoring stations located at the production facility in Esteli, Nicaragua. When an incident is reported the staff in Miami or Nicaragua will
search for the video recorded on the server to investigate and support their findings. Video can be easily exported to a DVD or USB flash.
Exacq Technologies partner, Stone Computer, Inc., provided complete design and installation services of the
exacqVision VMS software, IP cameras, switches and custom server for Perdomo Cigars.

“We consulted with Johnny Peng of Stone Computer in Woodside, New York for the best possible solution in video management software. exacqVision video management software was recommended above all others because we needed a video surveillance system that could be managed from our headquarters in Miami Lakes, FL without the help of IT or security personnel. The system needed to operate on an industry standard server and operating system with ease of deployment and maintenance to significantly reduce the total cost of ownership. The exacqVision VMS software has exceeded our expectations.”
