Reflections of LifeCorey Shawn Patrick, age 46, was born December 31, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Cleophus Robinson and Mary Ruth Patrick (preceded in death). The oldest of five children, he had two sisters, Tamika and Cleshay, and two brothers, Cleophus Jr. (preceded in death) and Terrion.
Corey received Christ and was baptized at age 12. Corey attended Lafayette High School in the St. Louis County School District, where he played football and was trained to become an officer in the ROTC program. He graduated June 1, 1993.
He began his career at Schnucks Bakery, joining the union (BCTGM-#4) in 2006. He gave Schnucks his outstanding labor until March 14, 2020.
Corey, affectionately called “Cool C,” enjoyed life with his family and one “Wow” moment after another. While enjoying life, he met his friend for life, “Detri”, sharing many replayable moments. Corey and Detri came together in Holy Matrimony on September 8, 2012. They shared the birth of his namesake Corey Jr., who put a smile on his face and a joy in his heart that would last forever. Being the father of one son and two stepdaughters, put him in the spotlight to be and was an awesome dad, which he was. He became a grandfather “Papa” of three boys with whom he was very active.
Corey leaves to mourn his passing to his new life: his precious wife, “Detri”; one son, Corey Jr.; two stepdaughters, Tredell and Tya; three grandsons, Jordan, Armond, and Corleone; father, Cleophus (Deborah); two sisters, Tamika and Cleshay; one brother, Terrion; grandparents, Lonza and Corine; three uncles and one aunt, Alonzo, Jackie, Ronnie (Diane), and Anthony; father-in-law, Perry (Cynthia); mother-in-law, Arthurine; two sisters-in-law, Tammy and Chasity; a very loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends (special friend, Terell Wilhite) to whom he was very special and loved dearly, and he will be missed forever.

Precious Memories
TributesBabe, I can’t breathe...I’m numb. What do I do when my heartbeat has stopped? We had more trips to take.. more memories to make, our kids, our grandkids... Our provider, our protector... We will miss you, my love. The way you would look at me will burn in my memory and heart
forever... A Jeezy concert will never be the same without you. I will make you proud, babe. Until we kiss again, I love you eternally.
Your Wife Your *Star*
~ Detri
Dad, I want you to know, I had the best life with you, and I will never stop loving you.
~ Jr.
Corey, you are my sister’s child. You’re a brother to me more so than my nephew. My heart hurts, because I want you here with me, but it’s not up to me. All I have are memories that I have to hold onto, because there is no one like you. You are cool, nice, sensitive, respectful, you are “cool”. You
are the epitome of a nephew. I heard you laugh that day, not knowing it would be the last time, and that I will hold onto forever. I love you, man, and already miss you.....
~ TT Jackie
An Eternal Memory...Until We Meet Again
Those special moments of youWill always bring a smile
If only I could have you backFor just a little while
Then we could sit and talk againJust like we used to do
You always meant so very muchAnd always will, too
The fact that you’re no longer hereWill always cause me pain
But you’re forever in my heartUntil we meet again
~ Tya
TributesCorey, this is your granny. I love you. I’m going to miss you, and I don’t know what to do without
you. I appreciate the time I had with you.
~ Granny (Ma) Hannah
My oldest grandson. Very obedient, never had to tell you anything twice. Always protective of your granny. Never said any bad words in our presence. We love you very much.
~ Daddy Lonza “That man is a success –
who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much;who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;who leaves the world better than he found it;
who has never lacked appreciation of life’s beauty or failed to express it;who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.”
~ Your Princess, Dell, and Your Grandchildren
Speaking with you on that morning was all about Corey Jr. You made a lasting statement, “That’s it, that’s all.” My heart was filled with joy. I said, “I love you.” You said, “I love you, too!” It was
not meant to say good-bye, because I’ll see you in Heaven. “THAT’S IT, THAT’S ALL!”
Love,Arthurine (Grammy)
“Our Big Brother”You were the balance between us, the “cool” one of the crew, the one who never raised your voice, but them li’l brothers knew not to play with you. The one who loved and respected everyone and
certainly got that in return. Our Big Brother... Mr. Laid Back and Cool... It breaks our hearts that God said it was your turn.
