CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS 2
Health IT InnovationCorepoint Health is leading the integration
generation with interoperability solutions that
meet the demands driven by HITECH and
Meaningful Use, as well as new challenges posed
by health information exchange (HIE) and account-
able care organizations (ACOs). Customers have

of integrating healthcare systems, as shown from our #1 KLAS®
ranking for interface engines the five previous years: 2009,
2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
As a manager of an interface team or as an interface devel-
oper, your integration platform needs to help you provide true
interoperability in everything you do, beginning with integrat-
ing all data with industry standards, to creating data flow within
your organization, and empowering you to easily exchange
health data with other providers and data repositories, such as
referring physicians, HIEs and ACOs.
We have taken our years of interoperability experience and built
it into Corepoint Integration Engine and Corepoint Community
Exchange to give you a feeling of empowerment in the work you
do. Corepoint Health products handle the standard interfacing
features with ease, and deliver many more modern IT features
that will help your organization exceed IT goals.

Data IntegrationIn today’s healthcare environment, data structures vary
from one application to another, yet you need the ability
to incorporate all data to support the delivery of patient care
throughout the continuum of care.
Corepoint Integration Engine gives you control of the data,
including ability to integrate data from all health data standards
and formats:
> HL7 Clinical Document
Architecture—CDA
> Continuity of Care
Document or Record—
CCD or CCR
> HL7
> X12
> DICOM
> NCPDP
> XML
DATA FLOW
Creating high quality interfaces shouldn’t require programming.
An interface engine should empower analyst-level IT staff or
developer to easily and quickly connect with affiliated physician
offices, labs and radiology centers and improve operations.
Corepoint Integration Engine provides a unique test-as-you-
develop approach using processing logic that is defined in a
menu-driven configuration. Because testing is built-in through-
out the interface process, users have complete confidence when
creating their integrated healthcare environment.
That confidence is backed up by Corepoint Health’s Native High
Availability solution, which assures users that every interface will
continue processing patient data—and that the data will always
be available. With Assured Availability, there is no need to rely
on third-party, failover options.
Once you have confidently integrated your organization’s health
data, Corepoint Integration Engine gives you the ability to easily
exchange data with external HIEs, create your own enterprise HIE,
and successfully establish the framework for an ACO.
COREPOINT INTEGRATION ENGINE
Corepoint Integration Engine gives you complete control of the health data processed inside your organization so you can easily build interfaces and manage the flow of data internally and to external providers.

COREPOINT COMMUNITY EXCHANGE
Corepoint Community ExchangeCorepoint Community Exchange allows health IT profes-
sionals to establish an enterprise-level HIE and seam-
lessly exchange data with trusted, external medical partners.
Our enterprise HIE solution gives users the ability to participate
in modern models of healthcare delivery, such as an ACO or
patient-centered medical home.
Corepoint Community Exchange, an extension of Corepoint
Integration Engine, is a forward-thinking solution that securely
reaches remote locations and centrally manages patient
data flow. It utilizes a Care Agent to securely transmit data
between a remote point of care or EHR application with
a centrally located system.
EFFICIENTLY EXPAND YOUR NETWORK OF CARE > Exchange patient data with remote locations
> Cost-effective scalability meets demands for EMR/EHR
integration without VPNs
> Secure, SOAP-based Web Services approach to managing
a modern health delivery network
EXTEND YOUR ORGANIZATION’S REACH TO HIEs WITH LOWER IMPLEMENTATION COSTS
> Centralized monitoring for proactive management
and troubleshooting
> Connect to any EMR in a low-cost, easy-to-support model
> Easily scalable to hundreds of remote sites without VPNs,
without sacrificing performance, and without expensive
configuration changes
Corepoint Community Exchange delivers a better way for points of care to connect and provide timely, quality care.

Integration engines are at
the core of transmitting data,
both internally and to external
providers. Because many
Meaningful Use require-
ments rely on the secure transmission of data, the CMS recently
confirmed that supporting integration engines must be a certi-
fied technology. (FAQ No. 3211, www.cms.gov)
Corepoint Health has taken the required steps to ensure that
Corepoint Integration Engine will not prevent our custom-
ers from successfully achieving Meaningful Use. Corepoint
Integration Engine not only has been certified for key criteria,
but also has passed critical Privacy and Security safeguards to
ensure that data is not compromised.
Corepoint Integration Engine’s Meaningful Use Certifications
TRANSITIONS OF CARE > 170.314(b)(1) Transitions of care—receive, display and
incorporate transition of care/referral summaries
> 170.314(b)(2) Transitions of care—create and transmit

and values/results to ambulatory providers
PRIVACY AND SECURITY > 170.314(d)(1) Authentication, access, control,

and values/results
METRICS AND QUALITY > 170.314(g)(1) Automated numerator recording

As proof to the critical nature of the integration engine, Hancock
Regional Hospital (Greenfield, Ind.) was audited by the CMS
for Meaningful Use compliance. Here’s what their data support
analyst, Eric Rush, said about the process:
“We were audited by the CMS for our Meaningful Use Stage 1 attestation. One of the key areas of focus for the auditors was the certification status of the integration engine. Corepoint Health worked closely with us to ensure that we were able to successfully demonstrate Meaningful Use while using Corepoint Integration Engine.”

IHE USA CERTIFIED
Corepoint Health
has met rigorous
testing requirements
for security and
interoperability that are key for organizations
looking to connect to or create ACOs or HIEs.
Meaningful Use Communication Methods Because external data exchange is a key emphasis in Meaningful
Use Stage 2, the ONC requires all Stage 2-certified complete
EHRs to support Direct Project protocol, making it the “mini-
mum threshold” communication method for exchanging health
data. Organizations can also use more advanced methods, such
as Web Services, to exchange data, but EHRs are not required
to support other methods.
Always ahead of the curve, Corepoint Integration Engine
supports both Direct Project protocol and Web Services.
DIRECT PROJECT
Direct Project is a government-sponsored initiative to promote
the secure communication of patient health information. Direct
uses the simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) as its communica-
tion backbone. This is an attractive option for several reasons:
> Fulfills a key requirement of Meaningful Use Stage 2
> An ideal substitute to costly VPN connections
> Keeps health IT departments agile, providing the ability to
quickly fulfill data transport requests from the clinical team
using SMTP as the protocol. The HL7 message payload
can also be parsed and sent/received automatically using
Corepoint Integration Engine
WEB SERVICES
A more advanced communication method, secure Web Services
updates data in real time based on trigger events, or action
points in Corepoint Integration Engine. Once a patient’s data
is updated by a provider and the trigger is set, that patient
record is published to one or more HIEs.
> SOAP-based Web Services feature gives users the ability to
act as either a Web Client or a Web Service within Corepoint
Integration Engine
> Corepoint Web Client feature includes “call” and “send”
abilities with logging and error handling capabilities.
Deploy data to multiple endpoints utilizing current engine
and server configuration
> Establish the destination hub, free of scripting, that receives
inbound requests from external calling applications equipped
with Web Services capabilities. A Web Service using
Corepoint Integration Engine creates an intuitive health data
information exchange architecture powered by the most-
trusted integration engine in healthcare
> Supports secure messaging, reliable messaging, secure
transport, client certificates, SOAP 1.1, SOAP 1.2 and
WS* standards
Web Service is a secure method of transport that is flexible
enough with its XML structure to incorporate profiles aimed at
consent, authentication, auditing, and all the other attributes
important to health IT.
