13

Your string trimmer comes with maintenance free, sealed 58 volt battery.

Lithium-ion batteries are subject to a natural aging process. The battery pack must be replaced at the latest when its capacity falls to just 80% of its capacity when new. Weakened cells in an aged battery pack are no longer capable of meeting the high power requirements needed for the proper operation of you string trimmer, and therefore pose a safety risk.Do not ignite the battery pack or expose it to fire as this poses a risk of explosion.Do not exhaustively discharge batteries. Exhaustive discharge will damage the battery cells. The most common causeof exhaustive discharge is lengthy storage or non-use ofpartially discharged batteries. Stop working as soon asthe performance of the battery falls noticeably or the string trimmer circuit overload protection is tripped. Place the battery pack in storage only after it has been fully charged.

• Protect batteries and the tool from overloads. Overloadswill quickly result in overheating and cell damage insidethe battery housing even if this overheating is not apparentexternally.

• Avoid damage and shocks. Immediately replace batteries thathave been dropped from a height of more than one meter (about 3 feet) or those that have been exposed to violent

shocks, even if the housing of the battery pack appears to be undamaged. The battery cells inside the battery may have suffered serious damage. In such instances, please read the waste disposal information for proper battery disposal.

• If the battery pack suffers overloading and overheating, theintegrated circuit overload protection will switch off the stringtrimmer for safety reasons.

• When charging is complete, remove the battery by sliding it out.

NOTE: Typical time required to reach a full charge is around 100 minutes.

CHARGING A HOT OR COLD BATTERY PACK Batteries operate over a wide temperature range, but this does not give permission to also charge them at these conditions. The charging process is more delicate than discharging and special care must be taken. Extreme cold and high heat reduce charge acceptance, so the battery must be brought to a moderate temperature before charging.

If two charger indicator lights are flashing RED & GREEN, it means that the battery pack temperature is outside the charging range. Once the pack is within the acceptable range, normal charging will take place. Hot or cold battery packs may take longer to charge.

grass. Move the unit from right to left while cutting to help prevent debris from flying back at you.

1. Ensure the knife protector is removed before use.

2. Fold the plant protector in.

3. Adjust the trimmer head angle to 0° for trimming operation.

4. Hold the product firmly with a gap between the product and your right side.

5. Stand upright, do not lean forward and pay attention to your posture. Keep both feet

apart to help retain your balance.

1. Ensure the knife protector is removed before use.

3. Adjust the trimmer head angle to 180° for edging.

8. Ensure the cutting device remains clean and free from off-cuts that may cause it

to jam. Check regularly. Release the on/off switch and rack before checking.

9. Trim longer grass in stages; do not cut long grass in one cut. For the best results,

cut longer grass in steps.

Edging

2. Fold the plant protector out.

Tips

1. For best results, do not cut wet grass because it tends to stick to the cutting head

and guard which prevents proper discharge of grass trimmings, and could cause

you to slip or fall.

2. Do not allow the spool cover to drag on the ground or other surfaces.

3. Pay special attention when performing the work close to trees and bushes. The

cutting head could damage sensitive bark and fence posts.

4. Fold the plant protector out to avoid bringing the cutting device into contact with

hard objects, such as walls and curb stones.
