• ACopyrightprotectsaliterary,musical,dramatic,choreographic,pictoral orgraphic,audiovisual,orarchitecturalwork,orasoundrecording,frombeingreproducedwithoutthepermissionofthecopyrightowner.

• Whatmaybecopyrighted?Inordertobecopyrightable,aworkmustbe1.fixedinatangiblemediumofexpression;and2.original.

• Ifmadebeforeorwithinfiveyearsofpublication,registrationwillestablishprimafacieevidenceincourtofthevalidityofthecopyright

• Ifregistrationismadewithinthreemonthsafterpublicationoftheworkorpriortoaninfringementofthework,statutorydamagesandattorney’sfeeswillbeavailabletothecopyrightownerincourtactions.Otherwise,onlyanawardofactualdamagesandprofitsisavailabletothecopyrightowner.
