2. Business Requirements
• Operations visibility across port
• Port Operations to Business integration
• Asset utilization & Condition based maintenance
• Optimize available resources
• Better ways to operate
• Cost Control on Fuel & R&M

3. Background
• Existing solutions at the port were not integrated
• Lack of common system which could monitor operations across
the port
• Difficulty to co-ordinate information needed for optimizations
of port operations & monitoring / reporting by management
• Need for a system which could scale up for large number of
users at multiple sites, with multiple data sources and large
volumes of data to be handled and stored
• Large number of performance calculations needed to be
incorporated
• Wireless Communication need to be established

4. Challenges
Achieve Operational Excellence
Reduce costs by escalating process execution
problems early Increase
Enhance performance of overall execution for
better customer satisfaction
Increase trust across organizational boundaries
through visibility of shared KPIs
Optimum utilization of resources

5. PIMS Solution
• PIMS solution entirely based on OSIsoft PI system platform
This is the First Port across the world which has implemented PI System to
Optimize Port Operation and help Management for Strategic decision
• Robust architecture captures all the real time information from all data
sources with the help of PI interfaces
• Integration with existing systems and ERP system such as
– IPMS
– Navis
– SAP
