High School 101 Authors• Chad Foster is a nationally-acclaimed speaker and the
author of two best-selling books/curricula, Teenagers Preparing for the Real World and Financial Literacy for Teens. Chad’s books have been read by more than one million students and his project-based curricula are used in 4,500 classrooms nationwide. This entrepreneur is credited with developing and marketing the soft, rubber playground surface seen at McDonald’s restaurants worldwide. Chad also hosted, for eight years, his own television show, Fly Fishing America, seen on ESPN.
• Dr. Mike Hall is a former classroom teacher, coach, high school principal, and Deputy Superintendent for the Georgia Dept. of Education. In 2003, Dr. Hall was recognized by the Blue Ribbon Schools as one of the top 10 high school principals in the nation and his school, Houston County High, was selected as the most advanced school in America for technology integration.

High School 101 DataRedmond High School, located in Redmond, Oregon, is a school of approximately 2,000 students. During the 2007-2008 school year we used High School 101 as an integral part of our Freshman Academy program, delivering skills to our students that are key to their success in high school and life beyond. Here is a summary of our results:
• Our freshman drop-out rate fell from 18% to zero
• The percentage of office referrals given to freshmen dropped from 41% of the total referrals to 9%
• The percentage of freshmen failing multiple classes fell from 18% to less than 5%
